Sally Struthers, best known for playing Gloria on All in the Family, was arrested early Thursday in Maine for driving under the influence, People reports.
Struthers, 65, was pulled over at 12:20 a.m. on Route 1 in Ogunquit, Maine, which is approximately 40 miles south of Portland. She was then taken to the police station, where she had her mug shot taken and was charged with OUI — operating under the influence — a misdemeanor. She was released on $160 cash bail and a court date has been set for December

Friend of mine grew up there. Said that if one dropped one’s wallet in Ogunquit, one would kick it over the town line before bending over to pick it up.
I thought Provincetown had that distinction.

Well . . . . . She was good as Gloria.
She’s been acting at the Ogunquit Playhouse this summer in “9 to 5”.
For 65 she looks good. When are freepers going to realize that many women put some pounds on because of hormonal changes, not because they eat like pigs, especially shorter women. Unless other pictures show her up as fatter than this one, she looks pretty normal for her age, in fact better than many. Not everyone is/remains a skinny all of their life. Yes, to be perfect she could lose some pounds, but how many freepers don’t have somewhat overweight elderly people in their lives and don’t treat them like they are pigs, or talk about them in disgraceful ways?
We've been up to that part of Maine quite a bit lately (mostly in nearby Kennebunkport and Portland). Sally has been up there lately performing at the Ogunquit Playhouse...
Is Ogunquit worse than Provincetown, Massachusetts in the "pervert central" department??
Also, I wonder how many freepers haven’t at one time or another had a drink or two and been over the legal limit? How much over was she, as a small person she could be over with one or two drinks with the limits these days. I am not excusing her, but the attitudes of so many are from a place that they are perfect, when you can be sure that they likely are pretty far from it. He who lives in a glass house, should not throw stones. Too many get a vicarious kit out of demeaning others, because they think it makes them feel better and bigger, when it actually makes them small. I wonder how many who make fun of her, have actually helped as many people out as she has. Lecture over.

Most of the time we stayed in beautiful Kennebunkport, just around the corner from George H. W. Bush's place, but other times we had no choice but to stay in cheaper Portland or South Portland.
