As others said, I miss this man so much. I try to be grateful that I was around when he was our President (and old enough to appreciate him at the time), but I still miss him.

A few others I like:

(To reporters at a WH presser) “Before I refuse to take your questions, I have an opening statement.” (Reagan had a great sense of humor)

“But there are advantages to being elected President. The day after I was elected, I had my high school grades classified Top Secret.”

“Government always finds a need for whatever money it gets.”

“Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.”

“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”

“I am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.”

“I have left orders to be awakened at any time in case of national emergency, even if I’m in a cabinet meeting.” (LOL!)

“If the federal government had been around when the Creator was putting His hand to this state, Indiana wouldn’t be here. It’d still be waiting for an environmental impact statement.”

“If the Soviet Union let another political party come into existence, they would still be a one-party state, because everybody would join the other party.”

“My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes.” (Microphone test that actually aired, 1984)

“One picture is worth 1,000 denials.”

“One way to make sure crime doesn’t pay would be to let the government run it.”

“Republicans believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is April 15th.”

“Some people wonder all their lives if they’ve made a difference. The Marines don’t have that problem.”

“Status quo, you know, is Latin for ‘the mess we’re in’.”

“The best minds are not in government. If any were, business would steal them away.”

“To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last - but eat you he will.”

“Today we did what we had to do. They counted on America to be passive. They counted wrong.”

“Trust, but verify.”

“Violence has been Nicaragua’s most important export to the world.”

“We must reject the idea that every time a law is broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.”

“Welfare’s purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.”

and of course...

“Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

TO ALL!

Thanks and here’s some food for thought.

I haven’t a doubt that the ACTS OF WAR on the United States this 9/11 were planned in advance. With turmoil, the price of oil goes up so does the price of gasoline followed by the price of store products.

0bama is about as indecisive and weak as Jimmy Carter was on day 444 of the hostage crisis. This news less than 60 days from an election, well… these attacks are not welcome news for 0bama.

The terrorists will soon see all they have helped replace 0bama with Romney and give the Senate to Republicans.

I hope President Romney with the Republican House and Senate will do what is needed to drive down oil and gasoline prices and get some payback for our Embassies.

Let’s get a new deck of cards with terrorist photos for our warriors to hunt. Let those terrorists on those cards hide in caves and sleep with camels until caught or killed.

These are good. However, I have seen that fourth one attributed to Will Rogers...and I have seen the alligator one attributed to Churchill.

Thank you for posting this thread

Very nice to see these Ronald Reagan comments.

Did I miss the one about ‘the shining city on a hill’?

There are others ... he was a great communicator.

In 1966, his comments on the moderates then:

“We don’t intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all.” President Ronald Reagan

Well, with Romney, they just did.

I agree.

Here’s where I’m at. My family and I could vote for Joe the Rag Man or anyone else you could name but it would do nothing.

I live in Calistan (and will soon leave taking all my cash) and no matter what happens, 0<ZERO 0bama will get 75 electorial votes from California.

BTW, After years, I just CLOSED MY AMAZON.COM ACCOUNT TODAY after they agreed to begin collecting sales taxes for this blood sucking state. I’ll continue online shopping from OUT OF STATE VENDORS and PAY ZERO state tax. I get what I want and Amazon.com and Calistan LOSE!
