Today marks the 225th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution on Monday Sept. 17, 1787. All of the thirteen states were represented at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, except for Rhode Island.

Along with the signing, the Convention agreed unanimously to this resolution:

Resoved, that the preceeding Constitution be laid before the United States in Congress assembled, and it is the Opinion of this Convention, that it should afterwards be submitted to a Convention of Delegates, chosen in each State by the People thereof, under the Recommendation of its Legislature, for their Assent and Ratifiction; and that each Convention assenting to, and ratifying the Same, should give Notice thereof to the United States in Congress assembled. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Convention, that as soon as the Conventions of nine States shall have ratified this Constitution, the United States in Congress assembled should fix a Day on which Electors should be appointed by the States which shall have ratified the same and a Day on which Electors should assemble to vote for the President, and the Time and Place for commencing Proceedings under this Constitution.

That after such Publication the Electors shoulod be appointed, and the Senators and Representatives elected: That the Electors should meet on the Day fixed for the Election of the President, and should transmit their Votes certified, signed, sealed and directed, as the Contitution requires, to the Secretary of the United States in Congress assembled, that the Senators and Represetatives should convene at the Time and Place assigned; that the Senators should appoint a President of the Senate, for the sole purpose of receiving, opening and counting the Votes for President; and, that after he shall be chosen, the Congress, together with the President, should, without Delay, proceed to execute this Constitution.

You probably won't hear much, if anything, about the 225th anniversary of the Constitution in the lamestream media today. In their perverse mindset, they think that the first anniversary of Occupy Wall Street deserves more attention.

Great comment. Can there be any doubt that the vile and corrupt liberal media wants to bring this country down?

Several of my FB friends and I have posted today’s anniversary to remind others of today’s importance. Of course, we are all conservative Christians and have read the Constitution unlike some who just swear on oath of office by it.

Well put.

And I wonder if gold hitting $1776 earlier was just a coincidence...

Maybe it's a Happy Anniversary but it is not a happy day for our constitution nor this country. We have a Republican congress afraid to do their job of upholding the law against a person who is constitutionally ineligible of being the president of the US that is clearly (in your face)dictating via executive orders the direction of this nation without constraint or concern of any reprisal. What could those in congress as well as Judge John Roberts be so afraid of that they capitulate to the obozo plan for this nation as if obozo were an unconstrained king that on his word could have anyone put to death?

Let's hope and pray that, despite the endless assaults on it from some in all three branches of the federal government, our Constitution will survive and be strengthened for at least another 225 years!

Of course, we are all conservative Christians and have read the Constitution unlike some who just swear on oath of office by it.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you don't have to pass any religious test to respect the Constitution. Even some atheists do. In fact, the Constitution itself prohibits any religious test for Federal office.

You are correct to point out that many of our officeholders are committing perjury flagrantly when they swear to uphold the Constitution in their oath of office.

Look at it this way the reason why the British could not defeat us was because they could not defeat a idea, a belief.
The British thought that they could occupy cities, and dominate certain parts of our country, but, they could not defeat what people believed in.

Hope the same thing that Jesus Christ said about the Church, the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.

The gates of hell shall not prevail against the Constitution of the United States of America.

The sad truth is that it will probably not survive 225 more weeks, without our well conceived and well executed efforts to turn America back towards the realities of life, which the framers understood so well, but which are now virtually totally ignored in the seats of power.

The very multi-generational sense of purpose, which clearly inspired the framers of that Constitution, has been under systematic & pervasive attack in "American" Academia & in a Media (who parrot whatever the Marxist & Fabian Professors were promoting, when the talking heads & word processing typists, were being "educated").

The hour is late; the foe has pulled out the stops, and many who believe as we do, are still confused & in disarray, because it is hard for decent people to even understand why anyone would want to deconstruct a political system that actually worked for a people's benefit.
