“Dollar Index Headed for Rapid Collapse” Over Next 3 to 4 Weeks
SHTF Plan ^ | 9/18/12 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 09/18/2012 5:22:07 PM PDT by Kartographer

If you think the Federal Reserve’s quantitative easing will only affect the US dollar, think again. Now that the United States has officially begun it’s third round of money printing to the tune of at least $40 billion monthly, central banks around the world will also act to ‘defend’ their currencies in kind.

Moreover, because everyone is joining the fray, all of that extra money will make its way into key resource stocks and commodities, adding further upside price pressure to essential goods like food and fuel.

It’s a race to the bottom, and the losers are the 99.9% of us who aren’t being kept in the loop.

If all major currencies worldwide enter into competitive devaluation, does the dollar crashing make a sound?

You could always use a quote from another sci-fi serial, "Babylon 5":

"The avalanche has started, it is too late for the pebbles to vote."

I like some of the ideas there.

“what does “dollar rapid collapse” mean anyhow?.....what would happen if THAT happened?....”

Your dollar is worth less today than it was the day before Bernake made the announcement. The Fed was already putting in 45 billion new dollars every month, now they added another 40 billion new dollars every month, making a total of 85 billion new dollars every month.

Your dollar will buy less food and gas now. That's rapid change in the value of your dollar, as more new money is added every month, down goes the value of your dollar more.

Click to read the whole article to see what this does to overseas currency to speed the collapse of our money system.

___________________________________________________________

Even with Hyper inflation the fiat currency has some value. The problem is that when you make $50000 a year and it cost 2000 to fill up your gas tank, you ain’t gonna be driving. When it cost 1000 a day to feed your family, $500000 homes will be worthless. People who have precious metals will buy real estate for a song. People without precious metals will sell all they have just to eat.

There won’t be any government bailouts, the farmers will sell their food directly to consumers, their families and friend and those who can supply fuel.

All this has happened many times in human history, Greece, Rome, Germany twice, there is nothing new about what happens when governments switch to fiat instead of money.

People talk about Nixon being a bad president because of Watergate. No he was a bad president because he took away the value of our money. It was a good run for a generation but now its time to pay the fiddler and we’re broke.

If you don’t have silver, food storage and a paid mortgage I feel sorry for you. For a long time I’ve been telling people you only have a few more years, I don’t think there are any years left now, It may be down to months or perhaps even weeks.

Obama has done this on purpose. His goal is to crash the economy. Then he has to take over. When no one can afford to eat they all become moochers and support what ever Obama wants as long as they can eat.

After the Russian revolution the rich people had everything they owned taken away and put into the collective. Their houses, their farms, their money, their guns, their precious personal items, everything. That is what the leftists want, everything you have.
If you read “Atlas Shrugged” you know how it ends. John Galt created a society where everyone traded gold. The only currency allowed was gold.

Inflation is a form of theft. When it is only 2 or 3 percent we think of it as a tax. When it hits 25% a year we can’t afford to pay our bills. When it hits 10% month we can’t afford to eat. Once we can’t afford to eat we become desperate and do desperate things. Most won’t sit back and starve to death, they will become proactive in getting food. New governments will be formed from gangs that rob, pillage and murder to get their needs met. When that happens our people will be ready and willing to accept king Obama if he can feed us.

I know most of you think I’m crazy but this what happens in societies that break down. There is nothing unusual about it, people won’t just lay down and die, they will steal your food to live. They will kill you for it. Just because you haven’t seen it before doesn’t mean it can’t happen. It will happen, it is only a matter of time.

Fifteen Trillion is such a large, unfathomable sum that we can’t even begin to start paying it back. Instead those that hold the debt will loose.

My advice, pay off your mortgage, get a lot of food and a lot of precious metals. Convert your savings to precious metals, mostly silver now, you savings may soon be worthless. Precious metals include brass and lead. If you do this you will at least survive until the government takes it all away and puts you in an apartment complex with a bunch of other people.

Good luck.

I think we are going to an unforeseen place.

KC, that last sentence is more than profound. I think we're going to a place that has not been seen in our nation in our lifetimes.

But that doesn't mean it hasn't happened before, either here or abroad. Recall WW2, and the utter devastation of Europe. No living American recalls the Chicago Fire, or Sherman's March to the Sea. Those are just a few incidents; there are many more throughout the histories.

We can use these histories like a lantern, lighting the few steps ahead so that we're not stumbling into the darkness, blind and unknowing of the perils before us.

I am sorry but you really drop some credibility quoting quark from star trek dealing with the seriousness of the evil nature of people. I don’t care how great you think the quote is.

You really need to stop yourself from using it.

I have to agree, it stopped being interesting and relevant after the 100,000th time.

Took me 10,000 and only took you 1, guess it show I have a lot to learn.

Seeing how my preparedness manual was down load 2500 times in in August plus so far this month I guess I still have some relevance.

Can you show something comparable in which you made a difference?

You misread and misquoted what I said.

I never said I didn’t take what you are saying seriously. I said you lose some credibility quoting quark from star trek to make your point about the evil in the real world, real people. Again and again. There are plenty of real people who have better quotes about the evil of man than to have to use alien creatures telling us about how evil man is.

It’s a serious subject, using this doesn’t really treat it that seriously, especially given the nature of Quark himself. If we really have to analyze it that far. Kind of like using a quote Bemedict Arnold to discuss the immorality of British traitors. And even that would be better because Benedict Arnold would at least be a real person.

When you add in the fact that their is a growing concern for social unrest regardless of which way the election goes, the next few months will be like walking a mine field.

Even if Romney "wins", it won't mean a win for us. Between the new czars and muzzie/commie/liberal government department heads and other enemies placed in key positions, the destruction will continue no matter who is sitting in the WH.

You failed to answer my question is the quote not a fair and true synopsis of what happens to most people when placed under extreme duress especial people who have lived their lives up to that point with no experience of such harsh situations? Is it NOT a fair assessment of how the unprepared and the entitled will react?

I like the Quark quote, but after a while the repetition of any quote starts to get a bit stale. Normally I would suggest to Kart to turn it into his tag line, but it's a little lengthy for that.

Hmmmmm...maybe he could calculate the MD5 hash of that quote and make that his tag line??? :O

“I never said I didn’t take what you are saying seriously. I said you lose some credibility quoting quark from star trek to make your point about the evil in the real world, real people. Again and again.”

Kart makes that same post when a new prepper article is posted. NEW people come here to read all the time, and that post is for THEM, not those who come here regularly so the post is NOT for you or me or other regulars.

The Star Trek example gets the point across. If you want to post another example that does the same, do it and post it every time Kart puts on another article. Kart spends a lot of time to find articles for us preppers and we appreciate it. Basically, for you and all others, leave Kart and his free speech alone and stop complaining.

He can say what he wants, I never said he couldn’t. But I should be able to be say what I want about what he writes, just as you are complaining of my one single criticism of what he writes.

Quotes from fictional characters who are themselves greedy little bastards who swindle and kill and who others look at with pride for being swindly and greedy, just don’t do it for me. It’s hypocritical of them to worry about others being equal or worse than they themselves behave.

So no, the quote doesn’t really do it for me, and it is a rather jaded, biased look to classify every single person this way. If you want to be accurate, the significant subsection of people that fit the class talked about is what I would call the Takers. I would not call the Makers this.

If the quote was true, just about every person who lost their jobs during the depression would have become a greedy, shifty, dangerous crook. It didn’t happen. Because people with a solid moral foundation want to work for a living, want to be productive, want to show others they are good at things and are valuable and want to take care of themselves and not be leeches on others. Makers generally are these kinds of people. The Takers of all different stripes, not so much.

So I do think the quote isn’t the best one because it paints with too broad a brush. Historical evidence in the worst economic times proves most people do not act like vicious greedy conniving thugs as described in the quote.
