It began with a canceled flight – but it ended with an 86-year-old Boca Raton woman behind bars for assaulting an elderly person: her 89-year-old husband.
On Wednesday, Edna Zent wasn't feeling well. She was set to hop a plane to New York with her husband on Thursday, but her recently-operated-on knee has been bothering her.
She told her husband – whose name has been redacted from a Boca Raton police report – she'd rather not go to New York.

That woman is more than “ill,” she’s got a mental problem.
When "Domestic Violence" was the current cause d'jour, guys were being arrested and hauled off even though they were battered and bloodied and the wives didn't have a scratch, because the cops, courts and judges couldn't bring themselves to believe that the woman could be the instigator. The Women's Lib movement was encouraging women to call the cops over nothing, and many men's lives were destroyed as the result of it.
I'm glad to see this crazy old shrew got to cool her heels (and temper) in jail.
My step-mother-in-law lives in Boca. You see this kind of behavior in the Publix there. I have also witnessed a fight between a man and wife in her assisted living center. The wife was the instigator.
Yes, this sounds like an early form of dementia.
I'm not a doctor, but she really needs to see one for an evaluation -- soon.
