Yachtsmen have been cooking on small diesels for ages. Some of the techniques were taught me by none other than FR's own Kenny Bunk, who is reputed to have keelholed a man for letting a souffle stick to an exhaust elbow.

To be sure, a tomato, shallot and carrot stew prepared with the meat of a Kastelorizo goat tastes just right - and flakes right off the bone - after eight hours on a Volvo D240.

Cooked (heated) many a c-rat strapped on the manifold with a hose clamp of my M151A2 jeep back in the day. Make sure you vent the can first though.
