McCaskill/Akin polling status
25 Sept. 2012 | self

What's the current polling look like on the McCaskill/Akin race in MO? Last I knew his campaign was trailing a tongue of flame and rapidly approaching 0 AGL, but that was forever ago in political time. I have a vague impression that that's no longer the case anymore, however.

What's up right now? I don't have a feel which polls are least skewed/inaccurate for Missouri. I'm having trouble finding sources that aren't just opinion pieces after the debate.

I'm not interested in whether people think he should stay in the race or ditch (nor am I going to disclose my opinion). I just want to know what the current status and "feel" of the race.

According to the MSM McAssKill is up by a 30% (and every democrat everywhere is pulling away by at least that much if not more.)

The fact that you can’t find any polls should tell you something. If McCaskill was ahead that’s all the LSM would be talking about.

I live in ILL but have to watch St. Louis networks and that hag is on every 10 min. claiming to be rated number 50, shows a chart out of 100 “I am number 50” as if that would make someone vote for her. Just standing with Obama when Obamacare passed should put her at the bottom of the polls.
Akin should just stay the course & he will do just fine in my opinion.

Yikes. Don’t like those numbers. But the saving grace is that it’s a two week old poll. I’m sure Akin has closed the gap.

C’mon Todd!

If ever there was an argument to be made for CLOSED primaries, the debacle in MO would be the model to use.

Romney is going to win Missouri. I don't see many people pulling the lever for Romney, then pulling the lever for McCaskill. Just don't see it.

That's a good point.

Didn’t mean it to sound like I was belittling you. I just hope the race has tightened up and/or Akin has pulled ahead since the time of that poll. Two weeks seems like an eternity this election cycle. Which in this case, I hope that means the voters have and/or will come back to supporting Akin.

I’m hoping Newt and DeMint will be helpful to Akin.

I’d like Repubs to PUT UP or SHUT UP, and then take a poll... since we’re at the deadline and Akin is on the ballot, the circular firing squad should STAND DOWN NOW. Akin might even be ahead right now if it weren’t for the maelstrom of negative commentary coming mostly from the Right...

McCaskill is even smart enough to shut up about it. Pointing out that she is pro-death while he is pro-life is not helping her.

I suspect you won't hear any real polls reflect the truth and I don't think you're going to hear any poll reflect positive for Akin. I suspect Akin has a very good ground game, and is actually in the lead. However, the media will try to dissuade and dishearten the Republican vote as much as possible. They're already trying to do that on the National level with Romney.

I'm so fed up with the liberal media, I no longer bother getting "news" from them. And if they report on anything that has to do with polls, I already deem that suspect. (Much of what I gather is from here at Free Republic! And even then, it's to read or voice an opinion.)

I believe we Conservatives have to focus/concentrate on spreading the word and getting out the vote for conservative values, no matter what the Media or polls say.

I've always said, we've got to come out in numbers to the point where even if the other side cheats, we win.
