Some are throwing away their vegetables while others are adapting to the rules by becoming industrious. In New Bedford, Massachusetts, students have created a black market - for chocolate syrup. The kiddie capitalists are smuggling in bottles of it and selling it by the squeeze, according to SouthCoastToday.com.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, how about the parents provide the lunches for their children.

No kidding. Of course you do run the risk of the school deeming it not nutritious enough and throwing it out.

Not going to work if the Food Gestapo grabs the kids' lunches and throw them in the garbage because "they" don't deem said lunches to be nutritious enough.

If that EVER happened to my child--they would be homeschooled beginning the next semester.

I consumed over 10,000 calories a day in college when I was an amateur weightlifter. In high school, I took in close to 5,000 just during the school day with sometimes double that consumed playing soccer and baseball on the weekends.

Our school lunches consisted of what we affectionately called “grease-za” and sloppy joes, but they were filling and often quite tasty.

What this regime is forcing on high school kids is criminals. When diabetic children start keeling over in the middle of 6th period and grades in general plummet, this lunch room catastrophe should be the first culprit.

This should be a total local matter....and it should be the PARENTS who design it. Parents are not as stupid as Michelle thinks.

Personally, I go for sandwiches...tuna, PB&J, egg salad, balogna, cheese....and soup and milk. That's plenty. Boring....too bad....

NOTE TO SCHOOLS: Stop overfeeding our children.

And Moochelle should grab some of her pictures...the one walking the dog would be good...and the one with her in the orange/gold blouse and Obama in his Mao jacket is another beaut. 100 to 1 she has had liposuction.

Breakfast....Let the damn kids pour some milk on their cereal......AT HOME!! Why should someone get paid to clean up their mess in school!!!

If Michelle O wanted to reduce obesity and poor eating habits change the food stamp program to allow only the purchase of healthy foods. I frequently see people at the grocery store with carts laden with chips, soda and every type of junk food, not to mention large steaks and crab legs paying for their purchase with a food stamp EBT card. Often these same people then pay cash for the beer and liquor in their carts. Make the food stamp program like the WIC program that restricts purchases only to healthy foods. I would bet the number of people on food stamps would decline as a result.

The wookie holds no office, so why is she dictating school lunch policies?

This morning I discovered my elementary aged son preparing his own brown bag lunch for school. He is a determined one! He has said that his friends are in an uproar over the horrible tasting food and small portions. One of his friends went as far as to say it was “Miss Obama’s” fault.

Sheesh! Even the kids in the country are ready to riot.

One bright spot in all of this; I get to explain to my high school students that this is what big government liberals do. While you are trusted to drive a car on the highway you are too stupid to be allowed to have lunch choices... the essence of liberalism.

I have cut our food bill down to $70 a week and that includes the homemade dog food I make for the pup. I am buying less meat, mainly chicken and hamburger, but we actually cook every single meal and everything is made from scratch. The only junk in the cart is one bag of potato chips that Hubby refuses to give up. Lol
I get absolutely livid when I get behind someone with an EBT card or WIC coupons.

Better yet - even though they are not given a choice on lunches, and in some schools home-brought lunches are inspected and declared “worthy” or “balanced” and allowed to be eaten, or thrown away and the student is then forced to buy a “worthy/balanced” lunch, they are given a choice of condom colors/flavors, birth “control” pills, and morning after pills all without mom or dad knowing.

THAT’S the essence of liberalism.
