Joking. Uh huh. More like a Freudian slip if not an outright suggestion.

And so it begins.

If a temporary suspension of elections would be such a good thing, why not just abolish elections entirely and appoint the current officeholders to lifetime positions?

That happened a year ago.

Nonetheless, I’m sure she and all the fascists (D) would love to do it.

Passing this comment along, I liked the sound of it—

WHO we put IN Congress and remove OUT of Congress this Nov will be MORE important than who we put in our White House!!!

“You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”

Then get people with some decency and self respect.

After she said this she declined re-election bid for North Carolina. North Carolina then votes to make Marriage Man and a Woman the the DNC comes to town.

Pat McCrory (R) will win NC hands down.

In periods of supreme danger and stress, the Roman Republic would appoint an official to assume all power in the state, executive and legislative. His decisions had force of law, and he could not be prosecuted for any of his actions. However, he was limited to a maximum term of office of six months.

This official was called the “dictator.” The challenge, of course, was to find a dictator who only wanted to solve the crisis, not take advantage of it for his own benefit.

This institution probably got Rome through multiple situations where their standard argumentative way of doing business would have resulted in their destruction.

I’m no fan of unlimited power for any man, but it is difficult to see how we can possibly work our way out of the mess we’re in with our present system in place.
