Habitats such as coral reefs or the Arctic region were among the most vulnerable to global warming, scientists said at a conference in Lillehammer, south Norway, organized by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). Almost 200 governments agreed in 2010 to a goal of limiting global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial times, seen as a threshold for dangerous changes such as droughts, floods, desertification and rising sea levels. "At 2C you have impacts. The idea that 2C is a safe level doesn't really hold up," said Jeff Price, coordinator of the Wallace Initiative, an international group seeking to model the effects of climate change on 50,000 types of plant and animals. "And when you start moving beyond 2C the impacts on biodiversity start rapidly increasing through much of the world," he said. Greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels are the main cause of warming, according to a U.N. scientific panel. Price said Colombian coffee plantations, for instance, would have to be shifted to higher altitudes and onto more shaded northern slopes as temperatures rose. "It's going to require wholesale movements of coffee plantations in Colombia," he said. That could put coffee more into competition with habitats for rare tropical animals and plants. FOXES, LEMMINGS In Scandinavia, the Arctic fox is among animals under pressure since climate change is reducing the availability of its main prey, the lemming. And red foxes, bigger than their Arctic cousins, are moving north as temperatures warm.

The propaganda and its funding still continues.
blah-blah-blah they will never stop trying, will they?
“still continues”
But not like it was. Sometime between An Inconvenient Truth and Climategate it climaxed. I don’t recall being made to feel I was about to die since ‘08.
I know believe even the dullest libtard hears/sees it same as we do.
Reuters? Yeah, now that’s a liberal crackpot organization if there’s ever been one. Waste of read!!
beers; hour
apologies
Yes, but it's become self-parody. NOBODY with an IQ above room temperature believes the silly doom-and-gloom, end-of-the-world, faux "scientists" anymore. The global warming scammers jumped the shark long ago.
Don't get me wrong - - we definitely must remain vigilant and I thank you for your continued attention to the scammers and their latest schemes. I do, however, think we're mostly in the clear for at least ten years. or for as long as we have a GOP Senate firewall. Also, thanks for the pings.

The enviroloonies seem to be acting up again. I wonder if this is because they don’t see Barry winning in November and they know that they better get what they want now.
What part of the planet has not a little, but by far the greatest biodiversity? Is it the tropics (where it is warm), or the poles?
[Almost 200 governments agreed in 2010 to a goal of limiting global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial times. . .]
I doubt the citizens of those 200 governments are anxious to return to the Bronze Age.
I don’t drink coffee and I hate foxes so good.

Global Warming on Free Republic
This week it’s coffee... next week it’s chocolates and small cute furry creatures... Mother’s love? Mom’s get stressed by climate change and stop loving their children. The horror. And bazillions will die... and oh, by the way, we need a few extra trillions to prop up more liberal elite ‘scientists’...
In his talk he gave factual information about the fallacy of human caused climate change.
He has a new book out; I assume it will be pretty good but I haven't read it. Greenpeace now obviously doesn’t like him. He took kind of a swipe at them saying there wasn't a pension plan at Greenpeace when he was involved!
