If you were looking for someone to advance the Conservative movement, Savage was totally untrustworthy and phoney.
That said...I will still miss him because he made me laugh like none of the other talk show hosts could.

Thirty years I’m eating in that place. Thirty Years! I’m never going back. The schmucks, the filthy vermin. Teddy was trying to enjoy a quiet bite and some brat kid is screaming and crying, and a woman is breast feeding him as she changes his diaper right on the table. I can’t take it. I’ve had it. Thirty years!

I am a daily listener - love him - but I’m from
NY - so his idiosyncrasies don’t bother me.
He tells the truth for better or worse, and I
hope we haven’t lost his voice.
I agree, he’s not a very good cheerleader.
The other 4 do a much better job.
There are times when Savage makes me want

Writing done well is when you can hear the person’s voice. I started to reach for my volume dial to turn it down!
I remember when I first discovered him for myself. It was during the 2000 election fiasco. I was angry/disgusted and tuned into the radio late on a Friday evening, and I ran across this voice of a guy that sounded as pissed off about it as I was. Have been a listener ever since.

That would be a good assumption in my case. I pay no attention to the posting categories.
Savage is the rare talent who can do multiple segments all by himself without a guest and still be entertaining. I see the Wikipedia has him number five. Number One, of course, has no difficulty pulling off the mono-monologue. He is the ultimate "Doctor of Democracy". Number 2 is guest-driven. No problem with that, as long as it's interesting, which it usually is. Numbers 3 and 4 are irrelevant. I expect Number Five will be back soon enough.

Michael Savage will be off the air for “some time” according to his website. He’s posted a message that says, “after a grueling legal battle that cost him and his family dearly, Michael Savage can announce he won.” Savage filed a lawsuit against TRN in 2010 over his contract and says he is “now free to work with whomever he wishes in the radio industry from this day forward.” We’ve left a message with Savage’s attorney to try to get more detail. We’ve also reached out to TRN for a comment but have not heard back yet. More details as we get them.
