I cannot say enough about the air rifles for plinking, critters and practice. I have also purchased the
BERETTA PX-4 Storm 16 shot Air Pistol (per the advice of an online friend and gunny).
This is perfect (25 foot target) for economical practice at home or in the basement. This is not really a toy and mimics real double action. Definitely wear safety glasses when practicing (more than one nasty ricochet).
Good to see someone knows the value of a pellet rifle. After the first few weeks birds will be about the only source of protein you will be able to find. I would also suggest taking a look at a crossbow and bolts with blunt birdhead heads. With extra strings for the long haul.
50 to 80 lb would be sufficient.
