Received this in an e-mail today and thought it worth sharing...

Lets all pray...

To my Christian Friends

This is the most uncertain election we as Christians have ever faced,

and from the looks of the polls, many Christians aren’t voting our Christian values.

We all need to be on our knees.

Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders unfold. This scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do that. We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land.

This election is the scariest I remember in my lifetime. 2 Chronicles 7:14. ‘If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill, who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute, to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace.

This had an amazing effect. The bombing stopped!!!

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. .

The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!! If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 P.M. Eastern Time (8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific), stop whatever you’re doing, and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the upcoming election, that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land, and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along. Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.

Please pass this email on to anyone you think will want to join us.

May God continue to bless you, your family and friends and our wonderful country!!

Be Content

October 2, 2012

Contentment is hard to attain. Even the apostle Paul, a hero of the faith, had to learn to be content (Phil. 4:11). It was not a natural character trait for him.

For Paul to write that he was content in every situation is truly amazing. At the time of this writing, he was in jail in Rome. Charged with sedition, treason, and other serious crimes, he had appealed to the highest court: Caesar himself. Without other legal recourse and friends in high places, he had to wait for his case to be heard. It seems as if Paul had the right to be an impatient and unhappy person. Instead, he wrote to the Philippians to say that he had learned to be content.

How did he learn this? One step at a time until he could be satisfied even in uncomfortable environments. He learned to accept whatever came his way (v.12) and to receive with thanks whatever help fellow Christians could give (vv.14-18). And most important, he recognized that God was supplying all he needed (v.19).

Contentment is not natural for any of us. The competitive spirit in us drives us to compare, to complain, and to covet. Few of us are in a predicament such as Paul’s, but we all face difficulties in which we can learn to trust God and be content.

O Lord, give me the grace to be
Content with what You give to me.
No, more than that, let me rejoice
In all You send, for it’s Your choice! —Anon.
Contentment is not possessing everything but giving thanks for everything you possess.

I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. —Philippians 4:11

I am prepping a young teenage boy for a big audition. He took time off from school this morning just to train with me.

Good morning, DD.
Yesterday was a perfect day for an afternoon swim.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Are we ever going to get some cooler weather? I would really enjoy some cool nights.

How are you doing? If you have given any updates, I've missed them.

Have a beautiful afternoon.

Great to see you, LTOS.
We had to call a handyman out. Sunday our hot water heater quit.

Last night Marissa was able to take a shower instead of a bath with water heated on the range.

I'm sure that I would enjoy October in Massachusetts.
The only time I visited it was beautiful. I loved the beautiful trees.

Wishing you a lovely Tuesday.
