Speaking as a concern troll, Can I be zotted?

Posted on 10/01/2012 11:20:15 PM PDT by mhorseman

Hey FReeper's. I HATE to admit it,but I am TRULY becoming concerned about the election. I hate to sound negative, and I TRULY don't listen to the polls (with the exception of Rasmussen),but I am starting to get the sinking feeling, that we are SUNK, and that Obama is going to get re-elected, no matter HOW WELL, Mitt does on Wednesday night!

I TRULY think that there are more people, that are idiots and Kool Aid drinkers, then there are informed, rational, intelligent people (like those found here at FR), in our GREAT COUNTRY.

Am I off base here, or am I just starting to cave from being bombarded by all sides with Poll info, political commentators, and such?

Is there anyone else, that is starting to feel the same way as me?

You should be afraid, if you have placed your trust in man.

God is the Rock, and beside him there is no savior. Put your trust in God.

President Ronald Reagan and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Modern era conservative heroes. We'll not soon see their like again.

Romney definitely needs to get his messages out there much more than is happening now. And there are only a few weeks left to do it. I can’t figure out why he hasn’t been doing this (like he did when he was running against Gingrich and Santorum). I sure do hope he, or his advisors, are not throwing the election away like many of us believed happened 4 years ago ...
your concern, your point is very well taken.

now, how do we get the message to Mr. Romney? How he could possibly lose this election.. what with the economy on the skids so badly and our foreign and defense policies screwed up so royally...... it would seem impossible for anyone to lose in Gov. Romney’s shoes.... ??

I swore to wait until November 7th to criticize Romney’s campaign or say anything negative about him.

When I have doubts, I donate a few bucks to him.

Suggest you take the same approach.

I posted this in an earlier thread. My mom is 79. She has NEVER voted in ANY election. She registered and will vote this November for the first time ever because she knows this country is lost permanently if Obama and his legion stay in power. She has seen the light. I hope there are many out there like her. I think there are.

If I were to believe all the baloney that the MSM is putting out, I might very well feel the same way you do. I don’t. I know I’m not the only one who has opted out of participating in unofficial polls. That said, why aren’t the poll reports excluding the percentage of people who just hang up on them? Get my drift?

Reagan was losing according to the MSM up to the last day before the election.

I wonder from where that myth came. Even in the msm polls, Carter led Reagan only in the early part of 1980.

poll results 1980

There are plenty of articles here recently, of how skewed the polls are. They are very weighted towards Dims.

Last election there were many people frustrated at Bush. Today there are even more ANGRY at Obama.

Last election many voted FOR Obama, simply for him to be the first black president.

Many voted FOR him because they had no idea of what he was or stood for. They saw him for what they wanted him to be.

Many in the black community voted for him simply because he was black.

Many union people voted for him simply because he was a democrat.

Last time many Republicans voted for Obama, because of early stated reasons.

Last election Obama beat McCain 52.9% to 45.7%, or 7.2% difference.

Rassmussen had Obamas approval at 60% approval to 38% disapproval, for the first month, with strong approve vs strong disapprove at 39%-25%.

Today Rassmussen has approval at 49%-49%...BUT...Strongly approve are at 28% vs strongly disapprove at 42%.

Obama MUST keep everybody he had. But just looking at Rass's Strongly Approve vs Strongly Disapprove, Obama is at -14. (The Strongly's are the wons who are passionate about their views, and most likely to vote.) One month after the election, Obama was at +14 in the Strongly for category. Today he is -14. A 28% swing.

Put aside the Rass poll numbers. Lets look at demographics.

Remember, Obama CANNOT afford to lose any of these.

Amongst blacks,Obama HAD a lock, Obama has lost some of this block because of his stand on traditional marriage and homosexuality. The black community makes up 13% of the population, and its figured he garnered about 95% of those who voted. Many are disgusted and WILL NOT vote, meaning a loss for Zero. Many religous blacks WILL VOTE... but for Romney, simply because of the gay issue.

Remember the "Republicans" that voted for Zero? That ain't going to happen this time. He's probably lost 90% of them.

Union workers, who consistantly vote Dem, are grumbling. Look for some to jump ship completely, others will stay home.

Those who "thought" it was "cool" to vote for the first black president, no longer have that stigma. For many the shine has worn off. What DROVE them to vote FOR him, no longer does. That group will stay home.

Independents...many for the above reasons have switched. The rest, if they are unsure at this point, means Zero hasn't impressed them enough, and are likely to vote opposite or not at all.

Obamacare has pissed alot of Christians off, be they Catholic or Protestant. That and his assault on traditional marriage and his support of gays will turn MANY away.

Last election There were bumper stickers and yard signs all over. NOT this time.

Heck, even newspapers in other country's were on the Obama bandwagon. You would have thought he was running for President of the world. Today those same papers are just as apt to mock him.

Even if we forget issues, Obama has lost his luster. Those who voted FOR him based on "FEELINGS" (nothing more than feelings) aren't as apt to do it this time. The shine, the coolness is gone.

36 years ago Carter beat Ford 50.1% to 48%.
4 years later Reagan beat Carter 50.7% to 41%.

The point, Carter was the incumbent, he should have had the win simply because of position being held, and yet he LOST 5.350 Million votes from the previous election.

Today, Obama is being compared to Carter (on both sides).

The week before the election, the polls and media were calling an easy win for Carter. He got spanked.

The fact that polls have it close and the media is trying to spin everything positive for Zero, makes me think the left is in desperation mode.

My only worry is voter fraud.
Or something underhanded like a strike on Iran, 1 week before the election. Or a fabricated catastrophe, to make a martial law power grab.

It is next to impossible to decipher whether the polled information is true or not, but the good news is that all these polls don’t matter. The only poll that matters, and the one that has no bias at all and includes the total pool and not just a weighted sample, and the one in which you can have a real impact, is the actual election which is coming soon. As long as you vote I wouldn’t worry much. A lot of these polls may be heavily biased by the media, and there are examples from the past where candidates have ‘won’ or ‘lost’ in polls, and yet continued to win in the elections.

there are more people, that are idiots...

This is the key statement. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again - Obama is not the problem, but the idiots that would vote for him. The Liberal plan for conquest is working, and it began in our schools.
