Suzuka is a very narrow track. No long straights either (the proverbial Mickey Mouse course). I wonder how much overtaking we’ll see in the race. My first guess would be, little. But with all the artificial doodads on the cars these days...?

In the virtual world, it was my best track. I’m sure in real-life it wouldn’t be.

Nurburgring Nordschleife was my worst. That is one tough track.

He didn’t look that sharp in 3rd round quali. That time Vettel put up is impressive considering the nearest rival team is almost 1/2 a sec behind him.

In his announcement, Schumi looked like someone ran over his favorite dog.

I was rooting for Kobayashi. Best starting position for a Japanese driver at the GP of Japan—with Button’s 5 place penalty, he’ll be 3rd on the grid.

LOL! It's funny how I like longer as opposed to shorter tracks, but I just do not like the Green Hell. Spa, Gedinne, even Schottenring (!) I like. The Nord' just bores me.

I've got the DVR set to record Suzuka, but it's on SPEED at 1:30 my time. I'll probably stay up at least an hour to watch some of it.

I have it on DVR (Dish Network). I am on lap 3 with it paused at the moment, but I can get back with you after watching to make sure it is all there.

Ahhh, bummer Alonso was taken out on the first turn. Might have been an eventful race. Looks like RB is back on top of their game, though. Vettel ran away with it. Would've liked to have seen a little bit of battle between him and Alonso. But it should make Korea interesting (I hope!).

Congrats to Kobayashi for his first podium, and at his home race! Very cool.

Your quickest -free- option would be to look for a torrent - usually out a few hours after the race.

Since I have a Usenet account, I d/l’ed the race in 720p HD that way (enter “formula1” as a search term at e.g. www.binsearch.info to see what’s available...)

Well, I’d hate to steer you toward something you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with. But there’s loads of information and tutorials regarding both torrents and Usenet just a few mouseclicks away (Google, wikipedia...).

Neither would make you happy if you have a low-bandwidth internet connection, of course.

You could also try to look for a video stream that might be available from some source via your browser.
