Touting the Obamacare "preventive services" regulation that requires virtually all health-care plans to provide women with cost-free sterilizations and contraceptives, President Barack Obama said Friday that providing women with free contraception saves money.

Then, in an apparent jab at Catholic institutions and others who have asked him to rescind the regulation and who have sued arguing that it violates their First Amendment right to free-exercise of religion, Obama specifically pointed to the fact that the preventive services regulation mandates free contraception for female college students as one of the reasons "why we passed this law."

"And we are going to keep it," he said defiantly. …

providing women with free contraception saves money

Certainly that's true, if you accept the premise that we're animals who can't control ourselves and have no responsibility for our own actions.

Saves us money in the short term. Costs us money in the long term.

Killing off our human potential will cost humanity.

The number of scientific discoveries by bastards and malformed humans is pretty significant. It's not zero.

I don't agree with Steven Hawkings on his religious positions, but that boy can do some math in his head.

It's simple math, the more people you have, the more geniuses you have.

cost-free sterilizations

Should read cost-free SURGICAL sterilizations, then folks would realize how much this will cost and another reason Healthcare Premiums are skyrocketing.

Surely you can't dispute the premise that some of us are animals who make no effort to control ourselves. There are several thousand Georgetown guys a year who would regretfully disagree with you.

Are condoms free? Or his he discriminating against men? How about paying for vasectomies or the new pills?

It could be argued that preventing pregnancy limits abortion.

It could also be observed that this is targeted toward white women and a lower white birth rate. Could he not find a black Sandra Fluk?

It could be argued that preventing pregnancy limits abortion.

That has been argued, but the evidence doesn't back it up. That is to say (your statement being a tautology) promoting the use of contraception does not, in fact, prevent pregnancies, and therefore also does not reduce the incidence of abortion.

Another beloved progressive program that doesn't reduce the incidence of abortion or of sexually-transmitted disease is sex education.

As with the Laffer Curve - lower tax RATES result in higher tax REVENUE - many people find the outcomes regarding sexual behavior to be counter-intuitive, or simply not what they want to believe, and so they just BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH I CAN'T HEAR YOU no matter how many times the evidence is presented.
