Why is MLB so weird? The team with the better record is supposed to get some kind of (homefield) advantage, right? Why does the team with the worse record, get the first two games at home?

The Tigers turned into a real adversity team this year. They teetered on the edge all year but have fought back to the late season win.

Leyland’s Stateegery:
1. Play 500 ball up to the All-Star break.
2. Win the majority of 3/4 day series to the end of the season.
Result: Close to or better than 90 wins; playoffs!
Leyland doesn’t coach to run to the Series and win, he coaches to make the playoffs. Team talent will take them as far as possible.

Leyland is a great manager. In his 6 seasons with the Tigers he’s taken them to the post season 4 or 5 times including into the world series in 06.
He’s different than Sparky Anderson was but he definitely ranks with him in my book.

Sparky coached to win the WS. Leyland coaches to make the playoffs.

Nice to hear......FWIW, Sunday's game wasn't televised in the S.E. Michigan area unless you were a subscriber to the MLB Network..........which most people aren't. That pisses me off.....
