In recent years a warming climate has encouraged wine producers to set up business in England, with vineyards now covering 3,500 acres of countryside.
But after a run of bountiful years, many have been left counting the cost of 2012's dreadful weather after the wet summer washed out this years harvest
Now a number of the nation's wineries have been left with not enough grapes to produce decent quality wine.
The news comes after it was revealed that many British fruit and vegetable crops have been similarly ruined....

Britons are supposed to make ale, not wine. Wine is for Frenchmen.
Sounds like sour grapes coming from University of East Anglia.
My wife and I spent a week in Cornwall in May and then spent further time in east Anglia and Scotland. We had warm and sunny weather for most of the trip especially the week in Cornwall. Even the weather in Scotland was very good. My in-laws told me that shortly before we arrived, they had been the wettest, coldest spring they could remember for many years. Then I guess it turned cold and nasty again after we left.
Is English wine really as good as anything France has to offer?
