A friend of mine runs just such a company. In fact, he did my website for my recent campaign for sheriff. http://www.pilgrimtechnology.com/
I think he changed his website tho. FS4 is in it but do you think I can find it for you! This is what came up in google. He is in Michigan but it still may be worth a call or email.
Can I recommend eroute.net - Good experiences with them!
Don’t laugh, I have a couple businesses and have been very happy with FatCow.com.
Their customer service is outstanding and you never have to hold or get transferred to another IT person.
You get a lot for your pennies and the site is never down. The e-mail will push to any device, or other address. FatCow’s e-mail is web-based and primitive but nobody uses it as we all push it to another smartphone or a Gmail account.
I don’t know if you can beat their hosting prices. IMO, avoid Network Solutions, GoDaddy, and the big players unless they match the second tier names in pricing and features.
Email for my business is more important than the actual website so when email fails to work correctly it means serious problems for me and my customers and vendors. Having gone through multiple “providers” from 1999 to 2005, I found “H-Sphere” clustered server providers employing H Sphere technology. Instead of a server performing all functions (DNS, Email, WWW and database functions) email is handled by separate discreet servers. Database functions on a separate server or servers, WWW on separate server or servers, DNS and control panel functions on a separate server or servers. There are quite a few providers offering H Sphere technology so search H Sphere providers. I’ve been with the same provider now for 7 years (jodohost.com). It’s nice being able to find a company you can stick with because moving everything to another provider is a PITA.
Asmallorange.com
That is a similar situation to mine, will look into that H Sphere silo servers idea. This will be our third move, and no one is looking forward to it, got to find one to stick with for the next decade.
Thanks everyone, I am going to spend inordinate amount of time this weekend researching these suggestions.
I host with GoDaddy, Hostmonster and HostGator. All three have been good for me. I have always had good customer service, minimal downtime and easy to undertand administration.
GoDaddy was hacked, but any of them could be. I keep a backup in Amazon which has amazing prices for data storage. I also keep several copies of backups out of the cloud.
GoDaddy is also scrambling to close any holes they can find. The others are as well as they were able to see their own vulnerabilities.
I have personal hosting experience with Total Choice Hosting and Hostmonster.com.
Both sites perform with nary a hitch and zero downtime AFAIK.
Reasonable prices. Good service.
