I saw this one a little while back, and I agree, it’s probably the single best ad of the race. It works so well because so many of us have been a member of that family at one time or another in our lives.

For me, it was the early 1980s again, when my dad was out of work for nearly 18 months, and I was one of the little kids at that table. The memories still cut, knowing something was wrong, wishing the way a child does that I could make things better, but being just old enough to understand that I couldn’t.

Great ad.

Could such a good looking, fashionable family ever be that joyless towards dad? We’ve had some rough times in this family, but its never looked like that.. (especially at feeding time)

See your dinner table and raise you a "half time"

See this compilation of Eastwood's GOP speech and the Superbowl ad...

The ad says 12.1 million, but the real number is closer to 23 million, IIRC.

I believe the 23 million number includes the underemployed as well as the people who simply cannot find work, also known as U6.

I hate this add. Let’s viewers read into what they want to. All too many will say yeah, this free market stuff just doesn’t work any more. A few rich people getting all the stuff while the rest of us struggle. A commercial that doesn’t mention what the people who paid for it are selling. STUPID!
