Sorry, I’d rather see the thing in space, not being moth-balled.
The Shuttles were built in So California we get one period. New York should not have gotten one
Sounds about right..many thanks..
Considering that, thanks to the sh*t-stain currently squatting in the Oval Office, we have no launch vehicle, and have to hitch a ride to the ISS with the Russians or Europeons, I found the melancholy music entirely, and sadly, appropriate.
Me, too.
And it IS sad. I hope Romney can resurrect the Space Program. I hope he WANTS to.
Agreed my home state of NY should not have a shuttle and the GOOD people of California should leave before the earthquake I’m wishing for gives Nevada beachfront property. Otisville?
<This actually made me cry. End of an era; end of our program.
I thought I was the only one thinking the same thing and getting misty-eyed. It is a shame and a tragedy.
By all rights, that shuttle should have gone to the Johnson Space Center in Houston. The L.A. Museum of Science and Technology already has a shuttle.
A purely political move on Obama’s part, and a prime reason that Houston’s largest daily newspaper just endorsed Romney.
Seattle? Oh yeah, but Houston? Not a chance.
THE SHUTTLE WAS DESIGNED AND BUILT IN SO CAL!!!
No American Rockwell Space Division, the home of Apollo and the Shuttle was in Downey in LA County It was designed/born there
And it was also built in Palmdale, also in LA County !!
The Shuttle was a Los Angeles County product...the people that designed and built the Shuttle live or did live in So Cal
If any place should have first dibs on a Shuttle it's Los Angeles / So Cal!
(I grew near Space Division in So Cal ... got to go in the full size Shuttle mock up at Downey back in 80 ..also used to have a piece of scrap tile...I knew alot of people that worked on it back then)
...If you want to bitch about who should get a Shuttle try New York..what the hell did they have to do with it?
Your kidding right?... Boeing bought No American Rockwell years later after the shuttle was designed and built...Seattle didn't have a dam thing to do with it...
That’s one helluva truck driver!

I thought they endorsed obozo...?
If you didn't work for one the big company's, you works for one little shops around the area supporting them....
The left in So Cal destroyed the aerospace business and drove it out.. so many jobs lost... makes me sick.......
I saw the Shuttles Home, at Downey Space division closed and then torn down... and what did they put in it place?... a shopping mall, a movie studio and state goverment offices taking the old office space...
I thought they endorsed obozo...?
Space shuttle was cool but like the Russians we should have stayed with the tried and true capsule. That would have been the cheaper way to go and we might still have been in the lunar/planitary exploration business if not for the shuttle and its massive expense.
And we here in NY built the LEM. Man on the moon....Neil Armstrong yatta yatta yatta. Way to go Grumman and Bethpage. NY rules the space race.
And quit yer whinin yourself.
