How the Faithful Voted: 2012 Preliminary Analysis (Jews voted 69% for Obama)
Pew Forum ^ | Pew Forum

Posted on 11/07/2012 3:49:11 PM PST by MadIsh32

In his re-election victory, Democrat Barack Obama narrowly defeated Republican Mitt Romney in the national popular vote (50% to 48%)1. Obama’s margin of victory was much smaller than in 2008 when he defeated John McCain by a 53% to 46% margin, and he lost ground among white evangelical Protestants and white Catholics.

But the basic religious contours of the 2012 electorate resemble recent elections – traditionally Republican groups such as white evangelicals and weekly churchgoers strongly backed Romney, while traditionally Democratic groups such as black Protestants, Hispanic Catholics, Jews and the religiously unaffiliated backed Obama by large margins.

hey, none of us freeper Catholics voted for 0 and 48% of self-identified Catholics didn't... so take your posts saying "you Catholics" to the DU front where the "liberal Catholics" aka "Yeah I'm Catholic but abort, am gay etc. etc. and don't care for Church teachings and haven't attended mass in a decade or more" haunt.

you metmom are saying "Take it up with them" -- you can bet we ARE, at the same time you can "Take it up with them on DU or Huff or NYtimes" -- here on FR you'll find no Obama supporters among the Catholics, so all of your posts saying "Catholics this and that" are being read by conservative Freeper Catholics who didn't vote O

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will ever be able to prove fraud.

Or even openly discuss it or accuse them of it. The screeching and recriminations would be monumental.

and how much did your non-Christian cult vote for Obama? More than 98% I'm sure Christians like Catholics or Baptists or Presbyterians, numbers for 0 went down i'm sure that more than 98% of Moslems voted for Obama

Just like I have been telling you for the past few days in response to your nasty private messages
I am still praying for you

Mat_5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

The question is — why did 20% of white evangelicals vote for Obama? There is no historical reasoning for the vote (which some Catholic idiots who voted for Obama can use as an excuse) — why would evangelicals vote Democrat?

we can eliminate the Latino evangelicals from that 20% (as even among evangelicals Latinos, more voted for Obama than for Romney), but still a significant percentage of white evangelicals voted for Obama. What could be the reason?

Jew-hate never gets a rest.

If Jews had voted 80% for Romney based on support for Israel, the usual gang on FR would be accusing them of putting Israel first.

Nice try -- talk about YOUR nasty private messages

I'm still praying for you and you to be converted to Christianity -- whether Baptist, Catholic, Evangelical or whatever.

finally one gets fed up and tells Lera and other non-Christians
I will ", shake off the dust of my feet." -- Matt 10:14

Read the Bible Lera, like John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

We Christian Catholics here on FR will read your and other posts and repeat Psalm 119:69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart.

post quoting Matt 5:44 reminds me of Psalm 62:4

I agree. Pretty definitely the 69% of American Jews who voted 0 are not represented on FR

We, as a nation, have already been judged. The die has already been cast. We can’t save the nation as a whole from God’s wrath but we can save ourselves.
God saw worthiness and blessed a group of individuals with the gift of freedom and we just tossed it away for comfort. From before we were born, we were tasked with the protection of Israel and God’s people until the return of the Lord and the eventual perfection of Judea to Christianity. All his children were supposed to unite as one under a returning Christ but we just left our brothers and sisters out to fend for themselves while we went in to get a Starbucks and watch American Idol. We won’t be wiped off the planet, we won’t all die in a physical earthly cataclysm but there will be consequences for all those that supported this.

We have failed.

Hey, Buffalo, NY is a HEAVILY Catholic community, VERY heavy, and look at the red/blue map of NYS and see how they voted, just like they do EVERY year.

For that matter, here’s an interesting link for your consideration.

USA - Statistics by Province by Catholic Population

http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/country/spcus1.html

If the Catholic population in these major cities in these big states voted according to official Church position, yeah, you’d better believe that it would have influenced the elections. It’s the cities that carry states like CA and NY and make them blue.

Red/blue map for president.

Red/blue map for house. (Shows breakdown better. You can locate virtually every city in the country by where the blue areas are.)

“Once a Catholic always a Catholic . I’ve heard that said on FR more than once and usually with a sneer aimed at former catholics who became Evangelicals . You don’t have to tell me they are zombies , I already know that but they are your uneducated zombies that grew up in your churches just like Nancy Pelosi , John Kerry and the Kennedy bunch.”

What are your thoughts on ex-evangelical Catholics? Most ex-Catholics I’ve met are bitter desiccated harridans.
