More than 30 states have a serious secession movement
Glenn Beck ^ | 11.13.2012 | Glenn Beck

Posted on 11/13/2012 6:32:38 PM PST by Morgana

The White House website contains a section dedicated to letting the people’s voice be heard. Got an idea for a petition? Got enough signatures? The White House promises it will “be reviewed” and that they will “issue a response” to it. Should be interesting to see how the White House responds to the thirty plus states who have garnered enough signatures to secede from the United States.

“Can I ask you a quick question? Who thinks it’s a good idea to put your name on a petition secede from the United States of America and give it to President Obama?” Glenn said on radio this morning.

According to TheBlaze, over thirty states have petitions for secession submitted to White House with over one thousand signatures each. The Texas petition alone has over 40,000. According to WhiteHouse.gov, petitions with over 25,000 signatures are supposed to receive the attention of the President.

“So after the election, what did people start doing? In 27 states, people started to ask for a peaceful secession from the United States of America. Now how do you think that’s going to work out?” Glenn wondered. “You’re putting your name on a list that goes directly to the White House and you’re putting your name on a list and say ‘Yep, I believe we should secede. I believe there should be a civil war.’ That’s really smart.”

“It says peacefully in it, Glenn. Really, isn’t it just to make a statement,” Stu said.

“Yes, it is. Do you think these people don’t forget who made a statement to them? Are you out of your mind.”

I think it was about 20 states yesterday, now 30. Does anybody know who the ten more states are? The lead article didn’t say. I’m wondering if my state, Alaska, is one of them.

ILL-ANNOY left a long time ago. It is a kingdom with a few fiefdoms wrapped in a family-run RICO organization on top of a bipartisan power club known as The Combine.

Yes, states can secede, just as the colonists seceded from Britain.

LOL, except for the minor detail that the "Great Britain" in this context doesn't have the disadvantage of physical separation by a giant ocean, and there is no weapons parity between the seceding party and the parent. The parent has nukes, and handicap-free weapons, not to mention the other machinery of war.

These “petitions” are on the official White House political propaganda website. They’re a cruel joke on the people by Comrade pResident Obama. The only thing that can ever come of them is the “petitioners” will be added to one or more of Obama’s lists. Pray you don’t end up on his enemies list or get turned over to Butch Janet and her Nazi SS squad as a potential candidate for the Fatherland reeducation camp.

I have never met one person from that state (illinois) that I liked and I’ve been all over the U.S. They and the majority of Californa seem to have a monopoly on producing vile liberal a$$holes that resemble humans...: )

If these individuals or groups are serious about secession:
1. You organize a vote in your state to show popular support, and for them to vote to leave the union. You cannot demonstrate a majority or large plurality based on an online petition.
2. You do not ask the federal government for permission. They will not grant it. States must choose to leave. The feds may or may not let them, but asking permission is certain to yield a “No” answer.
3. Publishing your name on a federal list with this regime is a guarantee to be put on a terrorist watch list, do not fly list and “audit them every April” list.
4. Signing such a petition with the feds shows you have no sense or opsec. If serious, you don’t create an online petition and sign it. You put people you don’t like on the list to have the government monitor THEM.
5. Signing such a petition may be deemed sedition or treason. You could end up under the NDAA as a homeland terrorist, seeking to overthrow the federal government.

These elections are NOT certified yet. The only way to get this investigated, much less recounted or overturned, is through the Secretary of State of each of the five key states: Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. EVEN IF YOU ARE IN ANOTHER STATE you can help. But it won’t do any good to dilute our effort to challenge California or Michigan or other states. Until a major group gets involved to do more, here is the plan: Contact the Secretary of State of the state in question. See contact information below...

We love you, Jim. But, our presence on FR very likely got us on a list or two.
These petitions will, at worst, add a couple of asterisks to our names. I’ll take that.

So, will anything come of these? I don’t know. What I do know is this: these petitions are making a statement, broadening the audience, and extending the general conversation regarding our political life and future. That alone makes them a good thing.

All the lists I have seen exclude Alaska, and the Alaska Independent Party website has nothing to say and seems out of date.

I would figure Alaska and Texas would be the first to split off, since I am also in Alaska I would welcome the idea. Only one state needs to cross the line, when other posters say its against the Constitution what crosses my mind is that we may have to break a law to save the law.

Now another state does come to mind and thats Arizona, they may do it first, they are just itching to get loose of Federal controls about illegal immigrants.

He exposes Marxist in the Obama administration, then says this has nothing to do with R or D or even L or R.

I think I'd agree with him here: it's Statism vs Liberty.

I have spoken to people who have said this is not for real.

The only reason I re-post this and other stories related is because I fear that there are those out there who do not take this as a joke. So much so that it might start a civil war. Things like this make me edgy. There are always one or two bubba rednecks who are just dying to have the “south rise again”.

5. Signing such a petition may be deemed sedition or treason. You could end up under the NDAA as a homeland terrorist, seeking to overthrow the federal government.

Signing such a petition cannot legitimately be called Treason, the constitution sets forth a clear definition of treason and this is not it.

“Who is making them then?”

Anyone who wants to. In fact once you sign in you can “sign” a petition for NY secession, Texas secession, or a petition to deport anyone who signs a secession petition. You (I mean you personally) can create a petition demanding that the UN move to the Falklands. It’s a White House graffiti wall getting publicity from people trying to make you think these petitions are serious, binding, or important.

See what’s going on:

If I lived in Texas or any other state that cares deeply about Liberty, I'd think about signing on to a petition. But it would be a petition within that state and it would most likely be a petition started by well known men of impeccable character and high stature and in positions where their efforts are taken serious by their countrymen and the petition would not be directed to the White House. It would be directed to the governor and the state legislature. Until the state governments get serious about defending liberty from federal encroachment, we don't stand a chance. We must get the states to enforce their tenth amendment rights, er, powers!! The states have it in their constitutional power to nullify federal laws that unconstitutionally intrude into their affairs. For example, they should shove obviously unconstitutional acts like ObamaCare up Obama's butt and or the citizens of the states should raise holy hell against them until they do!!

The clear wording of the Constitution has never stopped statists from bending, if not outright breaking it before, why would *this* be any different?

Good point; but it doesn’t mean that I can’t repudiate the “dissent is treason” thought here, does it?
