What are you experiencing and seeing with....

* The Fiscal Cliff
* Obamacare implementation.
* A budget deal or lack thereof,
* How it effects your practice and clients.

I am hearing that their is a bit of concern in the real world....

I have a son who is a VERY successful CPA. Ha number of clients who will now not expand their businesses because Obama was re-elected. He and his wife are also putting off the construction of a new home.

I posted this over a week ago, a lot has come out in the media about taxes going up, AMT and CPA's and Tax Pro's under strain.

I used to audit for CA's Franchise Tax Board (IRS). When alt min first came out all the forms were wrong, the instructions were wrong, the research materials were wrong. It was a BIG mess. One of the CPAs commented that they were waiting for us to come out and tell them how to do it (which makes sense since the forms were a disaster).

This is going to be much worse.

Thanks, let’s keep this thread going. As I understand it, the numbers to calc the AMT for next yr aren’t their, I don’t know about this year 2012, it doesn’t have a “patch” either at this point....

It looks like alt min is going to hit a lot more people. The thing to remember is that it's like a separate tax system overlaid on the old one.
