Democratic operative given state job in 2007

Her driving record includes seven accidents, four speeding violations, two failures to stop for a police officer, one failure to stay in her lane, one driving without registration or license in possession, and one driving without wearing a seat belt.

When she was nabbed for speeding in New Hampshire in 1999, she failed to show up at her hearing, records show. Until Nov. 1, her license was on nonrenewal status for failure to pay local excise taxes. There are 34 entries on her driving record, dating back to 1982.

Surprising to see the Globe go after one of it's own.

This woman is a criminal and a democrat, but I repeat myself.

Burgess was appointed to her $87,000-a-year position in July 2007, without any background in public safety, transportation, or government administration. Her experience was in Democratic Party politics.

Well, there you go. She's obviously fully qualified. Much like Susan Rice.

Our local newspaper is controlled by the Democrats and they are starting to find it difficult to ignore the juicy stories involving Democrats. Eventually, they have to look at the bottom line and scandals sell papers.

I would suspect that the Globe has someone else in mind for the position like another political crook that has yet to receive their reward, otherwise they probably wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole.

Why no police accident investigation report? What about her cell phone records? Or was a report done but it’s so incriminating that no one will release it? I can guarantee you if this person was a Republican it would make the front page of all the newspapers and blogs.

The Dems do all their laundry after election day.

By the next time folks are lining up for the polls, the headlines will be chock full o' Republican scandals. They just get the Dem stuff out of the way now so they can say they are even handed in their coverage.

Mantra of the democrats - do as I say and not as I do......

I worked for a very liberal democrat manager and I got a big speeding ticket in Wisconsin when on vacation, large enough fine I had to disclose it to our security office. When my manager caught wind of the ticket, I got called into his office and got yelled at and a talking down to how employees need to be obedient to the law and was chewed out that speed limits are to be obeyed for safety reasons. Unknown to that manger, I now work with a guy who lives on his street and he told me that he was driving fast on the road and he waved his handout to slow don and my former manager stopped and read him the riot act for daring to tell him to slow down.

Hypocritical indeed........

I’ve been driving for 44 years...never gotten a *single* moving violation ticket (but plenty of parking tickets),never had my license suspended or revoked and have had one accident since ‘72 (rear ended, not my fault).

Well, there you go. She's obviously fully qualified. Much like Susan Rice.

There's a Boston talk host who's always speaking of how utterly corrupt this state is and when speaking of someone who gets a cushy state job as the result of being "connected" he says "he/she was obviously hired after a nationwide search".
