Woman Injured by Gunfire in District Heights FBI Raid
NBC Washington ^ | November 18, 2012 | News4 & NBC Washington

A college student was injured during an FBI raid Thursday morning in District Heights, Md.

Agents were executing a search warrant at a home in the 6700 block of Kipling Parkway when the SWAT team "felt threatened" by a woman in the home, authorities said.

Homeowner Emory Hughley, a former military service member, was present at the incident. He told News4's Jackie Bensen that one agent fired at his 18-year-old daughter, Myasia, at least seven times with a semi-automatic weapon.

Hughley said his son and two of Myasia's friends were also in the house when a SWAT team of about 15 agents, fully clad in riot gear, forcibly entered the split-level home around 6 a.m.

As Hughley was emerging from his lower-level bedroom, he heard agents yelling, "She's got a gun, she's got a gun," he told Bensen.

Hughley said his daughter was wearing only a sleep shirt when the agent fired, barely missing her head. One shot broke into fragments as it hit the brick wall, striking her in the neck.

Myasia Hughley was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where she interviewed by authorities. Her injury is non-life-threatening, authorities said.

Hughley said he didn't know what the search warrant was for, but that the family didn't keep guns in their home.

The FBI's Washington Field Office would not specify what the warrant was for, and haven't provided any further information. But Hughley feels that the amount of force which agents opened home was excessive and dangerous, he told Bensen. The brick wall has multiple bullet holes.

Neighbors told Bensen they never noticed any untoward behavior in or around the family's home.

A neighbor told News4's Tony Tull she heard loud "bang" around 6:30 a.m.

First they came for our unarmed dogs, but I did not complain, for I was not an unarmed dog.

Then they came for an unarmed 18 year old woman.....

Maybe the home was being used as an underground studio for the production of anti-mohammed videos.

There could be compelling reasons for this raid —maybe they thought the daughter was one of a few journalists ASKING QUESTIONS about stuff, like the prez, maybe.

I’m thinking maybe that’s why he opened fire.

I don’t know the backstory, but I’m surprised there isn’t even any claim of “incorrect address”.

It doesn’t even sound like any police or “authorities” even checked on the house and occupants 1st, with a knock then or beforehand.

Strange, further that they don’t say anything about why such a raid - no claims of drugs, anything?

Assuming Hughley’s telling the truth, doesn’t the homeowner get to know what the warrant is for? Don’t they show him at some point?

If an FBI agent/SWAT member shoots seven times at someone, shouldn’t he hit her with more than a brick chip?

Why the hell do we have a stupid War on Drugs anyway?

So law enforcement can pull crap like this and get the big budgets, I guess.

It’s just collateral damage in the War on Drugs.

Personally, I think the FBI shooter and the moron who shouted “gun” should have to get on his/her knees, bow before father and daughter, and beg for forgiveness.

The only good thing in this story is that the FBI couldn’t shoot straight. They do excel in surveillance, though, but only when it involves somebody’s sex life. They flunked out in that regard in this case as well.

Everyone in this country is in danger of being attacked by the government. A government that is no longer “by the people”. It should be changed to read “of the people, by the idiots”.

They should all lose their jobs and the shooter tried for attempted murder.

There is no excuse for this.

The people should be allowed to personally sue criminal police personally, so that cops and FBI goons could lose their homes if they harm an innocent, unarmed civilian.. These wretched clowns get away with far too much.

Holes in the wall and a broken door, a hospital bill too. I wonder who pays.

The odds of anything critical of Obama coming out of District Heights, Maryland approach the mathematically impossible.

Bingo—Post of the thread.

It is scary to think that some Fibby is such a bad shot that he fired 7 times and all he actually hit was the brick wall. Proving that standing on the inside of the house even the FBI can hit the inside wall. Now we know why all of Obama’s agencies ordered those thousands upon thousands of bullets. They cannot hit anything they aim at. She got hit with a brick chip.

It’s not like she was 40 feet away, he was probably with 15 feet of her , fired 7 shots and missed.Next time the FBI goes on a raid , they better leave this no shooting a-hole home.

Then again, her father is a former serviceman, more likely to lean conservative.

That gives the theory a slightly higher probability of being accurate.

Forget a “chicken in every pot”, what America clearly needs is “an armed Doberman at every door”.
