Gerald Celente: When People Lose Everything, They Have Nothing Left To Lose, And They Lose It.
"Let me tell you something about humans, nephew: They're a wonderful, friendly people - as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working."
"But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those friendly, intelligent, wonderful people...will become as nasty and as violent as the most blood-thirsty Klingon." Quark from: The Siege of AR-558 (#7.8)" (1998)

Here in NJ cops & firemen (and public works and everyone else) were sacrificed so that teachers working 180 days per year could get their 4% raises. A lot of teachers with less seniority were let go as well; good riddance.
Local governments are learning how to economize (in the same way we’ve been learning for 10 years)...

You nailed it. Whenever they want more of our money, more power, more control... They just threaten to cut police, fire, and/or education... I don’t buy it either.

When it comes to education it’s always busing or number of days a week and if that does not catch their attention they do a combo and throw in a few teachers for good measure.
They NEVER cut the people you’d never notice where gone.

We now regularly hear about new records being broken in the resulting crime waves that follow...not to mention the day to day thuggism and essentialy domestic terrorism being loosed on the country by this leftist regime and their henchmen - niece who attends the UNIVERSITY IF DELAWARE tells of s student there who was expressing his admiration for Romney shortly before the election when he was attacked and sent to the hospital by what was apparently a gang of non-students - the hatred and intolerance for anyone even disagreeing with this crew is appalling......

I live 2 1/2 hours from the nearest city. Wouldn’t live in one for any amount of pay. My nearest neighbor is half a mile away and I like it that way.

Last paragraph:
The system is broke. The mathematics are simple. There is not enough money to go around. What we are seeing in Chicago, Detroit, Stockton and Camden is going to spread.

“People Are Afraid Right Now. You Can See It In Their Faces.”
I live in a very small, gated, group of houses. My security is very good around my house and I'm not fearful in my house. My shopping is on one street one block from me and I never leave that shopping street to venture elsewhere. I park close to entrances to buildings. I am aware of my surroundings.
However, I shop in an “upscale” grocery store (as opposed to Walmart), because it is safer than the crowded Walmart and one can always get a parking space close to the door of the upscale grocery. To put it bluntly, I am afraid of that Walmart parking lot and afraid of that store. I also cannot stand for 30 minutes try to check out of that Walmart. The upscale grocery starts another check out line if more than two people are in a line. I am paying more money but I know I am safer there and that is worth the extra money.
I do believe as every day goes by, people worry more about being safe outside and some worry about their safety even inside their house.
This is going to get worse especially in the cities and towns that have not controlled their spending and now they are broke as our national government is broke. Yes, they will lay off law enforcement and everything else they have to in order to keep city utilities and trash pick up running.

There IS no law and order anymore. Our elitist rulers blatantly break laws on a regular basis with impunity, and there are no consequences - no “checks and balances” anymore. All government is in collusion and is corrupt. Just look at all the “laws” being passed by states to give rights to “illegal aliens.” This is the biggest oxymoron of all, and a dead giveaway that laws mean absolutely nothing in Amerika anymore.
