“Don’t the cigarettes come in to play after the rutting is done?”

With deer, the rut is never over. Their horns just fall off.

“some stupid girl texting woulda run right over it “

Dead right. The only accident I know of around here was a girl texting and hit a fawn. I kid you not. She then hit a tree. Fawn was dead but the girl was fine.

Rose approached the deer and he says the deer seemed friendly.

Bambi delusional syndrome.

If you go to Hobart, Montana you see herds with hundreds of deer! I would not have believed it if someone told me, but I saw them with my own eyes.

Haven’t bought a pack in 30 years, but who knows, may be bettern Tinks doepee.

These must have been a couple of South Tyler metrosexuals not to know what to do with a buck.

It’s rutting season you know. Perhaps the deer had a reason for wanting a cigarette.

Eight point buck in your back yard! Impressive.

Now I see him. I had to magnify the image. See his doe too.

I don’t see many bucks. They keep their distance.

“herds with hundreds of deer”

We have that, too. One day the wife called me and said she would be late coming home. Why? Because about 200 elk were hopping the fence in front of her and she was waiting. It took her 20 minutes for them all to cross. It is not uncommon to have 100+ elk or deer in the fields near the woods. We have herds that we can see number 20+ around the house nearly daily.

They looked like a couple of young, good ole boys just headed off to work or maybe the Apple store or tattoo parlor. They said the police used a taser on it but it still managed to kick one of the five officers and bust his ribs. I am surprised it hung around that long for that posse to show up.

Couldn’t he have just asked for a smoke, like any decent PETA being? Meanwhile, where was Smoky while this Cervidae Hell’s Angel was thinking about lighting up?

If he elects to just chew it instead of risking a forest fire, he’ll find that Cope or Skoal is much better. So, hunters, pack some dip just in case.

The deer climbed into the pickup? It was Stu The Stupid Deer......

“Yeah....I’ve seen a lot of my deer buddies riding around in pickups, so I thought I’d see what the big deal is. They mostly seem to be sleeping in the back, though.”

If he was going for a smoke, that means the rut is over.

Smith County Game Warden, Dustin Dockery, and he says, "Admire deer from a distance but do not approach them because they can be dangerous."

THAT kind of college insight is why y'all pay 'em the BIG bucks !

Or doe, if you prefer.

My dad use to tell me his grandfather use to feed cigarette butts to his mule because he claimed it helped prevent worms. I figure there is probably something to that.

"That is a nice buck. I am surprised no else around has got him yet. Too residential although that doesn’t stop anyone around here?"

That's 'cause they're home on the Strange, on or around the Rockies of Calirado, where nearly no one hunts deer. I'm just sayin' it's weird here. People have an unnatural love for animals while hating fellow Americans.

Animal worship, tree worship,... It's much like the historic culture of a particular European country. Come to think of it, so are nearly all of the surnames.

;-)
