Danica Patrick and her husband are divorcing after seven years of marriage.

Patrick announced the split with Paul Hospenthal on her Facebook page Tuesday.

"I am sad to inform my fans that after seven years, Paul and I have decided amicably end our marriage," she said. "This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward."

Hospenthal is a physical therapist who met Patrick while treating her for a non-racing injury. The two were married in 2005, and he is 17 years older than the 30-year-old driver.

celebuskanks never take vow seriously anyway

He was a very tolerant guy apparently, after those Godaddy ads, I would never have spoken to her again.

Well, on point A, these folks were not celebs at that time...and on point B, are you kidding? That was probably the biggest ego boost of his entire life.

FYI - That kind of baggage would wreck most.

She is/was likely his victim as well.

Posted rumor has it the new guy is her new boss.

Anthony Wayne Stewart.

If true, we’ll find out here in Indy pretty quick.

I can honestly say I do not know who Danica Patrick or Paul Hospenthal are. Why does it matter to anyone but their families that they are getting divorced?

because she happens to be attractive?

I believe David Lee Roth would describer her as no more than semi-good looking.

I think she’s gross.

“Posted rumor has it the new guy is her new boss.

They could shack-up, but there is no building on earth large enough to hold those two egos.

(Actually as long as she doesn’t come back to Open Wheel, I don’t really care what she does.)

I'm surprised that no one brought up Ms Patrick's foray into current affairs from last spring. Here is Marc Steyn's account:
For some reason, Michelle Fields of the Daily Caller sought the views of the NASCAR driver and Sports Illustrated swimwear model about “the Obama administration’s dictate that religious employers provide health-care plans that cover contraceptives. Miss Patrick, a practicing Catholic, gave the perfect citizen’s response for the Age of Obama:
I leave it up to the government to make good decisions for Americans.
That’s the real "hot topic" here: whether a majority of citizens, in America as elsewhere in the West, is willing to "leave it up to the government" to make decisions on everything that matters.
Danica Patrick: who could better encapsulate the low-information, make-your-own-morality CINO female of the under-35 set?

Mmmm. Beats me. Does it have to be all politics all of the time?

I noticed my post was switched from news to chat/sports.
