Among all the things wrong with this situation, one of them is that the recommendation comes from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Pediatric medicine is supposed to be taking care of children. If a child is pregnant, she has, by definition, been raped: children cannot legally consent to sex nor to medical treatment.

People who are legally deciding to have sex and take abortificient drugs are, by definition, adults, and therefore pediatricians have no special competence in their medical care.

If we were to come up and say ‘16’ is the magic age to get easier access....I might come to some agreement. You already give out a driver’s license at sixteen. But you come to a point where young ladies at the age of 13...ought to be getting easier access, to make this all work. And I just can’t go along with some 13 or 14 year old kid getting into access like this.

If this all makes sense....then let’s lower the drinking age to 15 (like Germany), and enjoy letting kids be mature with their lives.
