Businessweek points out a staggering study suggesting that the delays and hassle caused by post-9/11 TSA airport screening procedures encouraged travelers to go by car rather than the far safer choice of flying resulting in thousands of extra road fatalities which would not have otherwise occurred, a death toll dwarfing that of the attacks on the Twin Towers:
Created in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the Transportation Security Administration has largely outlived its usefulness. These days, the TSAs major role appears to be to make plane trips more unpleasant.

What type aircraft was it?Don't know, it was a 50 seater. I'd refer to it as a commuter jet but I was jammed into it for 2.50 hours...a very long commute!
How wide was the seat (in inches?)About 3 inches less wide than me
What was the seat pitch (in inches)?huh?
Well????
That's a "Yes" or "No" question, asshole.
Answer it.
Did you SEE the pixelization around the three buildings I mentioned?
That's another "Yes" or "No" question, asshole, and it has only one true answer. If you claim to have looked and not seen it, I know you're a liar.
I ride aboard commercial aircraft frequently (all too frequently) ... His claims do not match my observations of reality.
We are the ones thinking, you’re the one spouting conspiracy idiocy. The plane is dark because it’s in its own shadow, the sun is low and to the left in the picture, but the plane is banking around. Which is also why the right side of the buildings are dark, we’re seeing the right side (within frame concept) of the plane.
If He was helping us you wouldn’t be here spreading truther nonsense.
Probably shadows, perhaps as the result of the massive farking smoke plum you see?
Seriously, not every little artifact in an image is a result of fakery, and besides, there’s VIDEO of the event in question, taken from live TV.
Seriously, go away. Nobody wants to deal with Truther nonsense.
I fly wayy too frequently as well. I find the entire experience to be uncomfortable at best. I fly often enough to get upgrades to better seats. ones which have a little more space between seats. Towards the back of the plane the spaces are getting smaller.
I usually make it through security fairly quickly at my main airport. There are numerous airports where TSA is extraordinarily slow.
October 2012.
Roughly same for me. Almost always on United or United Express, in my case.
Don't know, it was a 50 seater.
I like those 50 seaters ... they don't have middle seats. It was probably an Embraer or Bombardier. Small aircraft for short hops are nothing new ... perhaps you'd like to go back to turboprops? Maybe a nice DHC-6 Twin Otter? I'll admit the DHC-8 had a taller cabin than most of the small jets, but until very recently they were extremely loud.
So ... the seat was less wide than you. Coach class seats vary from 19 to 22 inches wide, depending on the aircraft. That width hasn't changed in at least 30 years.
Seat pitch is the distance between seat rows, fore and aft. longer pitch means more "leg room"
That is the result of digital photography. Nothing weird. Take any photo off the internet where you have two contrasting colors, zoom in and you'll get the same thing. Here is a random image. Try it. Same 'pixelization' (Not a real word, but heck, I'll play for a while). Simple a fault of image processors.
Are we IBTZ?
Same here. Ain’t seen the inside of an airplane since.
Can anyone name just one single instance of TSA actually apprehending a terrorist?
IBTZ
TSA officer quality definitely varies by city. In Phoenix, they are fairly good - in L.A., they live down to most of the stereotypes.
Buh bye...IBTZ.
Oh good grief. Quit listening to Alex Jones. Pixelization(sic) is only slightly different probably due to different image resolutions.
Nutjob conspiracy theorists think there is a conspiracy in every rock just because they are too dumb to know what a rock is and not honest with themselves about how dumb they are.
IB4TZ
My wife and I fly to Idaho once a year to visit our son and his family. That's the only time I'll fly...and only then because my wife is with me and I'd have a stroke and die listening to her driving instructions on a cross country trip!
