You are welcome, this was the song I was looking for when I stumbled across that great one. Much the same theme.

Yes it was a wonderful song. I love photos of horses as much as I love them of dogs, puppies and kittens.

I’m hooked on old time gospel and southern gospel with a little blue grass thrown in. My I Phone has mostly gospel on it, with a few country songs. I am a fan of George Straight, Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins and Garth Brooks, along with the Oak Ridge Boys

The Power Of Terminal Thinking

December 31, 2012

As we look forward to the New Year with plans and resolutions, the voices of godly men from the past encourage us to think about something we prefer to ignore—our own death.

Thomas à Kempis (1379–1471) wrote, “Happy is he that always hath the hour of his death before his eyes and daily prepareth himself to die.” And Francois Fénelon (1651–1715) wrote, “We cannot too greatly deplore the blindness of men who do not want to think of death, and who turn away from an inevitable thing which we could be happy to think of often. Death only troubles carnal people.”

These men were not referring to a depressing preoccupation with dying, but a dynamic approach to living. We, like the psalmist David, should pray: “Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. . . . Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor” (Ps. 39:4-5). David speaks of people who work in vain, heaping up wealth with no idea of who will get it (v.6). He concludes by affirming that his hope is in God, who alone can keep him from a life of spiritual rebellion and disaster (vv.7-8).

As we place our hope in God, the brevity of our life on earth is worth considering—every day.

Lord, we know that our life on this earth is so short
compared to eternity. Bless us, fill us, use us to tell
of Your love and goodness as much we can and
for as long as we can until we see You. Amen.
Considering the certainty of death
can provide a dynamic approach to life.

Read: Psalm 39:4-13

Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. —Psalm 39:4

This may not sound like a gospel song, but it truly is, it is about a life turned around to follow the Lord, instead of the devil. Mr. Russell is no longer with us, he is with our Lord.

Jeremiah tells us ‘God has a plan and a purpose’ for each of us. Psalms tells us God created us when we were in the womb, (mysterious), and Ester tells us ... ‘who knows we were born for such a time as this?’. God makes no mistakes, this time is our time to which we are tried and tested. What we do or do not do makes a difference.

When we read the treasure of the Scriptures we are instructed in what pleases God. We respond to our belief. Do we have the faith of a mustard seed?”

Faith is a necessity. Like the apostles asked of Jesus ... ‘increase our faith’. To know God is the way.

Praise the LORD, in Jesus name, amen.

Happy New Year’s Eve, Meg!

Had an early celebration by seeing the movie “Lincoln” then having lunch at Applebee’s and then shopping. Me and the girls (Mom, Aunt,Sister) had a fun time and were home by 5pm.

Home with hubby tonight. Made a nice spiral sliced ham and sweet potatoes for supper.Yum!

Doggies got the scraps and loved them of course.

Happy New Year to Amy’s Place!
