Vanity: Syria loading chemicals weapons. Biblical Prophecy?
Foxnews

Posted on 12/05/2012 7:00:45 PM PST by ConservativeMan55

According to a report the Syrian Army has loaded chemical weapons and is waiting on orders to use them.

If Syria uses these weapons there is NO telling what could happen. The weather could cause MANY complications.

Such as Isaiah 17.

17 A prophecy against Damascus:

“See, Damascus will no longer be a city

but will become a heap of ruins.

2 The cities of Aroer will be deserted

and left to flocks, which will lie down,

with no one to make them afraid.

3 The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim,

and royal power from Damascus;

the remnant of Aram will be like the glory of the Israelites,”

declares the Lord Almighty.

4 “In that day the glory of Jacob will fade;

the fat of his body will waste away.

5 It will be as when reapers harvest the standing grain,

gathering the grain in their arms—

as when someone gleans heads of grain

in the Valley of Rephaim.

6 Yet some gleanings will remain,

as when an olive tree is beaten,

leaving two or three olives on the topmost branches,

four or five on the fruitful boughs,”

declares the Lord, the God of Israel.

7 In that day people will look to their Maker

and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.

8 They will not look to the altars,

the work of their hands,

and they will have no regard for the Asherah poles[a]

and the incense altars their fingers have made.
9 In that day their strong cities, which they left because of the Israelites, will be like places abandoned to thickets and undergrowth. And all will be desolation.

10 You have forgotten God your Savior; you have not remembered the Rock, your fortress.

Therefore, though you set out the finest plants and plant imported vines,

11 though on the day you set them out, you make them grow,
and on the morning when you plant them, you bring them to bud,
yet the harvest will be as nothing
in the day of disease and incurable pain.

12 Woe to the many nations that rage—
they rage like the raging sea!

Woe to the peoples who roar—
they roar like the roaring of great waters!

13 Although the peoples roar like the roar of surging waters,
when he rebukes them they flee far away,
driven before the wind like chaff on the hills,
like tumbleweed before a gale.

14 In the evening, sudden terror!
Before the morning, they are gone!
This is the portion of those who loot us,
the lot of those who plunder us.

That one already happened ~ and more than once in fact.

Damascus has been a total wreck before, and it will be in the future ~ just their dumb luck to be on one of those crossroads of the world.

Not to worry.. they are mostly WMD from Iraq and we know that those weapons do not exist. They may look real but . . . .

Syria loading chemicals weapons. Biblical Prophecy?

Actually, it should be "MSM loading digital weapons", and the Biblical Prophecy is regarding the commission of False Witness.

That doesn’t bode well for Israel either.

Syria is sort of like Libya. Both sides are the bad guys, I just don’t know which one is the baddest.

It is not biblical prophesy, it is just Muslims that want to kill each other. Sounds like Detroit or Chicago to me, just exchange the dominant population.

Simply morally corrupt, ignorant people being lead by Satan. This has happened for eons.

israel has the makings of an initial entry level anti missile anti aircraft system ~ so they may have the least problem in the nearest 3,000 miles from Damascus.

The Saudis might disappear.

What I"d do is keep your eyes on CNN. When folks are tossing sarin around it's not like the bombing show they provided with the attack on Baghdad. They'll probably leave the second they think this is serious.

Gas prices will probably go way up if this guy Assad uses sarin ~

CM55 (or anyone else),

How long is the potency of Sarin once it is dispersed into the air? Does anyone know? Is it like radioactivity and a ‘cloud’ passing over countries? I know it’s deadly.....but I just wondered about how long it would live, so to speak. Thanks.

What sarin is
Sarin is a human-made chemical warfare agent classified as a nerve agent. Nerve agents are the most toxic and rapidly acting of the known chemical warfare agents. They are similar to certain kinds of pesticides (insect killers) called organophosphates in terms of how they work and what kind of harmful effects they cause. However, nerve agents are much more potent than organophosphate pesticides.
Sarin originally was developed in 1938 in Germany as a pesticide.
Sarin is a clear, colorless, and tasteless liquid that has no odor in its pure form. However, sarin can evaporate into a vapor (gas) and spread into the environment.
Sarin is also known as GB.
Where sarin is found and how it is used
Sarin and other nerve agents may have been used in chemical warfare during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s.
Sarin was used in two terrorist attacks in Japan in 1994 and 1995.
Sarin is not found naturally in the environment.
How people can be exposed to sarin
Following release of sarin into the air, people can be exposed through skin contact or eye contact. They can also be exposed by breathing air that contains sarin.
Sarin mixes easily with water, so it could be used to poison water. Following release of sarin into water, people can be exposed by touching or drinking water that contains sarin.
Following contamination of food with sarin, people can be exposed by eating the contaminated food.
A person’s clothing can release sarin for about 30 minutes after it has come in contact with sarin vapor, which can lead to exposure of other people.
Because sarin breaks down slowly in the body, people who are repeatedly exposed to sarin may suffer more harmful health effects.
Because sarin vapor is heavier than air, it will sink to low-lying areas and create a greater exposure hazard there.
How sarin works
The extent of poisoning caused by sarin depends on the amount of sarin to which a person was exposed, how the person was exposed, and the length of time of the exposure.
Symptoms will appear within a few seconds after exposure to the vapor form of sarin and within a few minutes up to 18 hours after exposure to the liquid form.
All the nerve agents cause their toxic effects by preventing the proper operation of the chemical that acts as the body’s “off switch” for glands and muscles. Without an “off switch,” the glands and muscles are constantly being stimulated. They may tire and no longer be able to sustain breathing function.
Sarin is the most volatile of the nerve agents, which means that it can easily and quickly evaporate from a liquid into a vapor and spread into the environment. People can be exposed to the vapor even if they do not come in contact with the liquid form of sarin.
Because it evaporates so quickly, sarin presents an immediate but short-lived threat.
Immediate signs and symptoms of sarin exposure
People may not know that they were exposed because sarin has no odor.
People exposed to a low or moderate dose of sarin by breathing contaminated air, eating contaminated food, drinking contaminated water, or touching contaminated surfaces may experience some or all of the following symptoms within seconds to hours of exposure:
Runny nose
Watery eyes
Small, pinpoint pupils
Eye pain
Blurred vision
Drooling and excessive sweating
Cough
Chest tightness
Rapid breathing
Diarrhea
Increased urination
Confusion
Drowsiness
Weakness
Headache
Nausea, vomiting, and/or abdominal pain
Slow or fast heart rate
Low or high blood pressure
Even a small drop of sarin on the skin can cause sweating and muscle twitching where sarin touched the skin.
Exposure to large doses of sarin by any route may result in the following harmful health effects:
Loss of consciousness
Convulsions
Paralysis
Respiratory failure possibly leading to death
Showing these signs and symptoms does not necessarily mean that a person has been exposed to sarin.
What the long-term health effects are
Mild or moderately exposed people usually recover completely. Severely exposed people are not likely to survive. Unlike some organophosphate pesticides, nerve agents have not been associated with neurological problems lasting more than 1 to 2 weeks after the exposure.

How people can protect themselves, and what they should do if they are exposed to sarin
Recovery from sarin exposure is possible with treatment, but the antidotes available must be used quickly to be effective. Therefore, the best thing to do is avoid exposure:
Leave the area where the sarin was released and get to fresh air. Quickly moving to an area where fresh air is available is highly effective in reducing the possibility of death from exposure to sarin vapor.
If the sarin release was outdoors, move away from the area where the sarin was released. Go to the highest ground possible, because sarin is heavier than air and will sink to low-lying areas.
If the sarin release was indoors, get out of the building.
If people think they may have been exposed, they should remove their clothing, rapidly wash their entire body with soap and water, and get medical care as quickly as possible.
Removing and disposing of clothing:
Quickly take off clothing that has liquid sarin on it. Any clothing that has to be pulled over the head should be cut off the body instead of pulled over the head. If possible, seal the clothing in a plastic bag. Then seal the first plastic bag in a second plastic bag. Removing and sealing the clothing in this way will help protect people from any chemicals that might be on their clothes.
If clothes were placed in plastic bags, inform either the local or state health department or emergency personnel upon their arrival. Do not handle the plastic bags.
If helping other people remove their clothing, try to avoid touching any contaminated areas, and remove the clothing as quickly as possible.
Washing the body:
As quickly as possible, wash any liquid sarin from the skin with large amounts of soap and water. Washing with soap and water will help protect people from any chemicals on their bodies.
Rinse the eyes with plain water for 10 to 15 minutes if they are burning or if vision is blurred.
If sarin has been swallowed, do not induce vomiting or give fluids to drink.
Seek medical attention immediately. Dial 911 and explain what has happened.

Open air use of chemical weapons is a very iffy thing. Wind conditions have to be just so, and concentrations are hard to control. The major challenge here is not military but political--what will Obama do--my guess is nothing, until euros take some semblance of action to lead the way.

I doubt the Syrians have any appetite for taking on Israel. This is not the opening act of armageddon.

The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim<<<

The Pentagon is the world’s largest office building by floor area, with about 6,500,000 sq ft (600,000 m2), of which 3,700,000 sq ft (340,000 m2) are used as offices.[2][3] Approximately 28,000 military and civilian employees[3] and about 3,000 non-defense support personnel work in the Pentagon. It has five sides, five floors above ground, two basement levels, and five ring corridors per floor with a total of 17.5 mi (28.2 km)[3] of corridors. The Pentagon includes a five-acre (20,000 m2) central plaza, which is shaped like a pentagon and informally known as “ground zero”, a nickname originating during the Cold War and based on the presumption that the Soviet Union would target one or more nuclear missiles at this central location in the outbreak of a nuclear war.[4]

The "rebels" are the baddest from a West/Israel point of view. Its better for Assad to "win" - he will have to keep watching his back for a long time after this

Also note that this conflict has driven a wedge between Hamas (Sunni) and Hizbullah (Shia) and will exacerbate the Sunni-Shia rift

When Assad wins it will cement this.

The Abbasid Caliphate disposed of it about 750 AD ~ tore down the walls, reduced it to a village or town, and removed economic activity from the area ~ and that was that. There are other similar events in its history ~ much of which precedes that of the Hebrews ~ couple of references to ‘something’ in the area back as far as 9000 BC

It was destroyed but came back. The Bible says it will be destroyed and no one will live there again. I had figured that meant an atomic blast if no one could live there again. I just read one of our ships off the coast of Syria is a nuclear weapon carrying ship. I can't imagine a nuclear bomb would be used.

In the past two months, Israel has asked Jordan twice to bomb the chemical weapons as Mossad knows where they are. Jordan has said “not yet”. That's because some of those chemical stores are close to the Jordanian border.

Just went thorugh half a dozen Bible translations. None of them say the site will never be repopulated at a later time ~ just that the suburbs and tributary towns will be so nasty sheep will graze in them.

That's happened more than once to Damascus.

Now, regarding Western Europe, that happened sometime between 535AD and 541AD ~ whole place turned into a cow pasture ~ and in many places that condition persisted for a thousand years.

Damascus only got destroyed once during that period of Biblical sized devastation ~ Paris, London, and all the cities of the North German Plain were utterly destroyed ~ so, tell me, how did Isaiah miss that?

Jeremiah 51 says at :25 about Babylon "“Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, declares the Lord, which destroys the whole earth; I will stretch out my hand against you, and roll you down from the crags, and make you a burnt mountain. 26 No stone shall be taken from you for a corner and no stone for a foundation, but you shall be a perpetual waste, declares the Lord. "

As it turned out in or about the year 600 AD the Euphrates shifted course leaving Babylon high and dry. It's still a wreck. Saddam Hussein was rebuilding parts of the old walled center city as a living museum ~ he got cut down in midstream as you noticed. This is a done deal.

Jeremiah later down the text says the daughter of Babylon will have her time cut short. That turns out to have happened to Baghdad which was built on the Tigris as a replacement for Babylon. They were impolite to some Mongol ambassadors ~ sent their bodies back to Huelaga Khan I believe ~ in barrels!

He then slaughtered all the inhabitants and burned it to the ground. The local economy was pretty much shattered for the next half millennium.

The predictions regarding Damascus are of a different order ~ the city goes up, the city goes down, but it goes up, and it goes down and it goes up again ~ over and over.

Babylon was destroyed and it's still destroyed, and nobody is going back there.
