This is a commentary on the thread I posted from Valerie Lucus-McEwen and 2nd Division Vet's post on the follow-up where she tried to walk back her screed.

F. No!
Those unprepared are simply too stupid to see this coming, meaing they are also the stupid that created the mess. If this country goes down it is because of the Takers, and once the system goes down they want to take what’s left??? F. ‘em.

and their OWN money to stockpile their OWN resources in order to prepare their OWN families for whatever disastrous scenario they foresaw, they are selfish. It is selfish, but selfish isn't bad.

Only to the extent of our own morals and beliefs.
I personally am more of a coalition builder and am allied with friends and neighbors.

If you don’t have the ability to defend your goods, you are prepping for the people who will decide they deserve them more than you.
If you don’t prepare, then you get to ride the bomb down, or to offer to exchange goods or services with the people who have prepared, at a mutually agreed price.

That will take discernment and charity on a case by case basis. My grandfather during the depression fed the hobos who followed the train tracks in south Chicago. In the city limits back then he and my grandmother, along with 9 kids had a cow a few pigs, a garden, basically they had food and enough to share. They always helped the hopeless.

No. Everyone is responsible for themselves and any coalitions when/if TSHTF.

Are Preppers...In my book, Art Pepper was the greatest of modern jazz alto players. Above Bird, Konitz, Niehaus, Woods, etc.

Absolutely. The 100,000 or so "preppers" in America are fully responsible for providing for the other 299,900,000 of us irresponsible ones. They should identify now who they are and where they live so that we can all head to the closest one when the SHTF. They will then be obligated to take care of us and feed us.
I just hope that the prepper who lives closest to me is laying in a decent supply of red wine and cranberry sauce - because I really like that cranberry sauce.

Selfish better describes the dumb-assed jag-offs who voted to reelect ObaMao and so many rubber stamp senate and congress critters. Not only selfish, but stupid.
I wonder if it even occurred to them that they would have better luck continuing to ride the wagon if more people remained pullers and fewer competed with them to be riders.
Even the most patently corrupt Indian Tribal Counsel wanting to keep as much largess for themselves as possible has the sense to realize that the best way to do so is to strictly limit tribal membership among whom the stuff is divided.
Obamabots? Not so much.
