Search For Teen Suspects In Shooting Death

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA/AP) – Police are searching for two 14-year-old boys, and reported a 13-year-old who are charged as adults with fatally shooting a Beaver Falls woman.

Beaver Falls police have charged Todavia Cleckley and Marcus Velasquez with criminal homicide and other charges in Saturday’s shooting of 22-year-old Kayla Peterson. She was shot at a house about 3:30 p.m. that day and died at Allegheny General Hospital two hours later.

Cleckley’s Facebook page shows a young man posing with a revolver in one hand and a pistol in the other. The photo was posted less than 12 hours after Peterson’s shooting.

Used to watch “Our Gang” as a child. Is where first heard of Reform school. Did not know what it was but could tell the kids were afraid of it. In one scene a boy who was not of the little rascals was being sent to reform school by a judge. He and his parents were crying.

I was actually happy to see that at least one reporter in the world can use the correct terminology.

Most handguns fall into two categories: revolvers and pistols. Most pistols are are semi-automatic.

Actually, I’d agree that the meaning of “revolver” is clear enough. It’s a handgun with a revolving cylinder.

But the word pistol means any handgun, and does not necessarily exclude revolvers. It may also be used currently the other way, excluding revolvers. But that’s not its historical meaning.
