Your missing a critical update. I had the same thing happen to me. Go to the windows update site and update your OS. You should be good to go after that. I haven’t had any problems since.
The trouble began after the last auto-update on Monday . My wife restored to Dec. 8th so now there are 7 updates at the Windows update site . 5 appear to be security related . One a small program of some sort ( Japanese ) .
