Two civil lawsuits against the company that owns the private jet that crashed Sunday in northern Mexico -- presumably killing music star Jenni Rivera -- accuse the firm of lying about its links to a businessman convicted of falsifying maintenance records.
Insurance firms QBE and Commerce & Industry Insurance Company filed suits this year seeking to rescind its contracts with aviation company Starwood Management because of alleged falsehoods.
In short, the insurance companies claim that Starwood lied in its application for coverage about the history of the planes being insured and about the true owner of the company.
Starwood is the owner of the Learjet that crashed Sunday in Mexico, most likely killing Rivera, who has not been found. DNA tests are currently being conducted to confirm the identities of the remains found at the crash site.

Insurance job?
IOW, the remains were pureed. Ugh. That happens at crashes at near sonic speeds.
Regarding bad records, that has been par for the course at many marginal aviation enterprises.
Notice how the wings are bent forward from the force of the impact. Amazing that it is recognizable at all as an aircraft.
That looks like they spun in. Or a flat spin. No way that thing hit a 600 mph.
at 600 mph
In a more vertical crash, nose down for example, tends to leave more of a crater with aircraft parts buried in or near the crater.
What say you?

Let’s get Telly Sevalis on the case.
Looks like he crashed in a flat spin. See how the tail is broken off to one side. This wasn’t a vertical crash, or at 450 knots.

TS
Looking at the shrubbery behind the tail and the soil disturbance behind the fuselage and right wing it appears the plane bounced over the shrubs in line with the fuselage, then the tail hit the ground first, the nose second, then it settled down and center fuel tank ignited. Notice that the ailerons are still attached. They would have been detached if it spun into the ground.
