Zombie Entertainment: A Lesson in Cognitive Dissonance and the Red Pill

Zombies are the new vampires in the entertainment world, but unlike pop culture vampires, they don’t sparkle, they aren’t sexy and brooding, and you don’t want to turn into one.

The most popular show in cable TV history is The Walking Dead. Dozens, if not hundreds, of zombies are slain in every episode. Head shots are taken with no more compunction than swatting as mosquito before it lands on your arm. An axe to the skull, a pick through an eye socket, blunt objects, arrows, daggers – anything goes. What’s more, it doesn’t matter if the zombie is a man, woman or child – it must be killed immediately as it staggers hungrily towards you.

The whole zombie thing has been a hoot. I assumed (I know, I know) that "zombie" was simply a variable to cover whatever came over the hill. Whether it was a hungry mob or a ravaging gang.

This puts a different spin on the whole thing.

Interestingly enough, Redneck Daryl is the most popular character on the Walking Dead. Seems that even liberals understand that in the zombie apocalypse, you want a redneck at your back.

Its kind funny, fans of the show all cheer in unison when a touchy feely liberal gets taken out.

Moslems or Zombies — what ever you want to call them — the reason why the TWD is so popular - it’s about survival and doing what is right when society collapses...

Zombies could be a horde of chaotic people that come after small groups by shear numbers — and what would you do?...it’s about tactics and planning ahead - pulling like minded people together to beat the overwhelming odds...with high unemployment, the fiscal crisis weeks away, and the number of enemies the US has inside and outside grows - TWD makes sense and people tune in...

Golly, for a minute there, I thought you were describing what happens to unborn children in abortuaries. An axe to the skull, a pick through an eye socket, blunt objects, arrows, daggers – anything goes.

And we've become pretty numb to that, so why not all this Zombie crap? Just sayin' . . . part of the culture of death . . . sorry for the digression

Actually the show has dealt with abortion and the right choice was made.

We are being socially programmed to find the unacceptable to be a matter-of-fact, everyday occurrence when we watch an axe be delivered to the head of a dirty, hungry, feral child. Forget racism – we are being taught a new kind of bias – the categorization of someone terrified and hungry as something less human than us – a threat to be enthusiastically destroyed without remorse.

Possibly correct as to the intent and effect.

However, it should be pointed out that the zombies are by definition already dead.

It's not "a hungry, dirty, feral child," it's a mindless living dead zombie. They ARE less human, in fact non-human.

Yup, if Daryl goes, so does the fan base. For some reason, I also really like Glenn. Not sure why, something about him. He's a survivor. Not as adept at killing walkers as Daryl, but willing to do what it takes to get the job done, several times over.

Zombies are a perfect corollary for columns of refugees. Great training to mind numb the kids to slaughter the homeless and helpless in the Apocalypse. The visual trigger is the rags for clothing, the justification as always is that they are not fully human. (Dirty Refugees, Muzzies, Joooos, N***ers...)

Hitler would be proud of this Administrations welding with Hollywood and the MSM. The greatest propaganda machine in history. Agenda 21 must go on, and the slaughter of the masses will be perpetrated by the masses this time.

People like enemies that everyone hates equally and generates absolutely no sympathy from us.

Good. I haven't watched any of the shows. Kinda' turned off by the title . . . I'd rather watch black-n-white reruns of old shows.

Merle’s days are numbered. He’s a piece of crap but he gets all the best one liners.

When he locked the zombie in with Glenn. “He’s gonna be hungry again in an hour.”

I’m amazed that there hasn’t been any major outrage over Carl. That kid has done some brutal stuff simply because they needed to be done.

“People like enemies that everyone hates equally and generates absolutely no sympathy from us.”

Especially those that are easy to kill. We also get to imagine ourselves in the situation.

The problem is, it is much more likely that those coming after “us” will be hungry and ruthless. Slow and mindless? - probably not so much. The only advantages we might have is that they will be out of their element and reckless.

The advantage they might have is that they will be, well, hungry and ruthless.

If the zombies want to generate sympathy from the Left they need to learn to mutter anti-American slogans while trying to devour the living.

He’s being very selective in how he views the show, and other zombie fiction. One of the ongoing plots of the genre is people struggling to grasp that zombies aren’t people anymore. If this is trying to desensitize us to death that trope really doesn’t make any sense, because it runs in the exact opposite direction.

Then you have to look at events in the real world. People are all freaked out over the deaths of 3 people in Oregon. If there’s been a decades long (zombie fiction ain’t new, only it’s current popularity is) attempt to make us accept death it would seem to have failed.

This is the money line.

I don't watch any of the shows (don't have TV), and the thread is certainly not about abortion, it's about conditioning.

The NWO bunch want a 75% reduction in the population. Of the world.
