Iraq War Veteran Celebrates End of 2,012 Mile Walk

Major Phil Packer MBE, who was injured in a rocket attack in Iraq in 2008, has crossed the finishing line of his 2,012 mile charity walk in Canary Wharf, London.

Major Phil Packer MBE, a former soldier who was told he would never walk again after a rocket attack in Iraq in 2008, has completed his 2,012 mile walk to raise money to build a Centre for Inspiration to help youngsters facing adversity.

It is the latest of a series of challenges that the former soldier has undertaken since 2008, including parachuting with the Red Devils and rowing the English Channel.

I hope the good Major arranged to have the docs who gave him that diagnosis on hand at the finish line so he could deliver a personal “F#$& you” to them.

Never underestimate the power of the human spirit, especially when it’s housed in a soldier.
