My favorite little discovery this Christmas season has been Shane McGowan with The Priests and their cover of the Bowie/Bing Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth:

McGowan’s voice is so raw and earthy it has a discordant sound to it the first one or two times you play it, but it grows on you after the first few listens and you appreciate its compliment to the high polish of the Priests’ vocals.

I remember the last time the Pogues played here in Toronto, at the Palais Royale- Shane was sick, so they had Joe Strummer fill in for him. You haven't really lived util you've heard London Calling live with accordions.
