So why did it happen? What exactly was the problem? Was it a database problem? Or was it a case of tweaking something and as a result these odd symptons developed. If you have a clue, as you imply, you could help us all by telling us what is going on.

If it is a database problem, I’m guessing that it will not affect everyone similarly at the same time. Calls to the database by the server may still return the data requested sometimes but not always.

It also affects you depending on what browser you use.
Use Mozilla? You might be affected in ways a Firefox or IE8 users might not be.
Weird.

While we're at it, the spell checker goes bananas and flags every word in a post. Not all the time but frequently. I just hit apply and try again, seems to work the second time around.
