Some may prefer English, or even the original French, because it ain’t just a musical piece. It is a spiritual work, and that means the more the merrier! There will probably be an entire section of Heaven dedicated to just this one song.

My Dad loved Jussi, and i was raised on his version of all the tenor arias. I especially loved his rendition of “Salute, demurer chaste i pure”(spelling probably wrong) from Faust. His voice had a youthfulness and silkiness that really went well with the French lyrics.
