Westboro Baptist Church is a “hate group”, whatever that means, but it should not be the government’s business to identify such groups. I would throw the KKK, CPUSA, AFL/CIO, SEIU, Teamsters, and other democrat hate groups on the list too, but that ought to be a personal list, not one with an official government endorsement.

I think that if this group of 80 or 90 people, largely family members, had named themselves something like the John F. Kennedy progressives, that we would never have heard of them.
The media can choose to ignore groups or stories, for instance even one as large and national and as front pagey as Code Pink, was simply disappeared when Obama took over.
Westboro hates and hurts white Americans. They are ghouls who show up at funerals to cheer the death of loved ones. They are too cowardly to harass a black soldier’s family at a funeral or the families of black children who have been murdered by insane thugs.

A very liberal relative posted something on Facebook criticizing Fox News for referring to Phelps and his inbred clan as Liberals. She seems to believe they're Republicans. I can't be bothered to engage her in this. They really hate the truth.

I find it more than passingly strange that this Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) never seems to came to where the activist Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgendered (LGBT) crowd are protesting themselves. Why aren’t the WBC present when the Act-Up crowd goes after the target of the day? Do you suppose that there is a hidden agenda working there?
