DMN police reporter Tanya Eisener posted this news on the DMN Crime Blog about a murder at Irving Cares today:
Authorities say an Irving man fatally stabbed his wife Friday morning at an Irving nonprofit and food pantry.
Roy Lee Gooden, 47, has been booked into the Irving city jail on a charge of murder, jail records show. His wife has been identified as Sharon Gooden, 55.
The fatally stabbing occurred about 11 a.m. Friday at Irving Cares at 440 South Nursery Road.
A woman who answered the phone at the food pantry referred comment to police department.

Irving police say a 47-year-old man stabbed his wife to death inside a nonprofit agency on Friday morning.
Roy Lee Gooden is charged with murder and is being held in the Irving city jail.
Police said he stabbed his wife, Sharon Gooden, 55, inside Irving Cares, a nonprofit on South Nursery Drive.
Investigators said the couple came to the food pantry together, but Roy Gooden got angry for unknown reasons and started stabbing his wife.
A security guard detained Gooden until police arrived.
His wife died at a local hospital.
According to court records, Gooden is a convicted felon whose previous crimes include aggravated assault, burglary and driving while intoxicated.
Police said they have not yet identified a motive for the slaying.

This guy’s wife was lucky that there is a law that felons can’t have guns.
Ever had government cheese? That’s some good eats. Back when we were kids, everyone in town had so much government cheese (they’d give it to everyone once the poor folk got theirs) that I doubt the grocery store ever sold any during that time.
He won’t be given a choice of cheese or anything else on his dinner plate for quite a few years after this.

He might have killed her because he just found out she was 8 years older than he is.
