If you like to feed the birds, always put out an extra feeder for the squirrels. And grow sunflowers in the summer. When they get ripe, the squirrels bite off the giant heads and carry them away. Fun to watch.

Our squirrels are entertaining at our bird feeders that are on metal hooks for hanging baskets. They hang upside down, all kinds of twists and acrobatics trying to reach the feeders, but we are going to have to duplicate this, this is just great!

I live in a town famous for it’s gray and black squirrels. Seriously. Awesome little critters. Unfortunately for me- they move too quickly for any photos.

What is missing is the best part - how does the squirrel get off of the
suspended bird feeder? A flying leap to the tree? Or to the ground?

I’m thinking the ground as he’d have nothing to thrust against to get to the tree.....and end up on the ground anyway.
