In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
mansuetude [man-swi-tood]
hear it pronounced
noun
mildness; gentleness
Origin:
[1350–1400; Middle English from Latin mansuētūdō, from mansuētus, past participle of mansuēscere to make tame by handling, from manus hand + suescēre to train]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

wow. that is funny in light of a facebook post from xsbaby’s HS chem teacher, who posted this past weekend that it’s a good thing he doesn’t teach gov’t [he tagged the gov’t teacher in the post] because he would be tempted to have the class write their congressmen and say FU. We were thinking that it was probably ill advised of him to post it on FB and hope he’s not fired for it today!
