Gun confiscation: How will it start?

Posted on 01/02/2013 4:03:29 PM PST by rustyboots

With all the recent talk about gun control, the high level of ammo/firearm purchasing and the just demonstrated lack of GOP gonads on fiscal matters, I started to wonder just how fast they would roll over for DiFi? But I guess the real question would be; If Difi got her wish on her new bill, how would they start if millions resisted? Would the government realize that there wasn't going to be a cheerful obedience to the new law and just let millions get away with this resistance? If there decided to go after gun owners who refused to register, how would they do it? Do they do massive overnight raids on FFL dealers/gun stores? Do they do the midnight raids on the common man? And then where do they start? What would happen if they raided 50 different locations in Texas versus raiding 50 different places in Kansas? Will we see resistance then? Of if successful, will the rest of America just bend over and grab their ankles? Just curious what many of you think? After 57 years, I am beginning to fear my government.... and many of the citizens of this great country.

I am somewhat concerned about the military support of such a crazy idea as gun confiscation. I have met many civilians who are a lot more educated on the Constitution and the Founders' intent than many Soldiers. Remember all those pics from post-Katrina? Photobucket

It will never start. It will never pass. Even if did make it out of the Senate it will not pass the House. If it did pass the House it would be shot down in the Courts. If the courts failed half of the states would not comply right at the start and 75% of the counties all across the nation would not comply. There would be such an uproar from any type of confiscatory law that many groups would begin to organize minute man style bands or resistance with organized planning. Even if any version of a law was passed in D.C. we would all see it coming from a long way off.

Now, these Ruby Ridge and Waco posts are silly examples. LEO outnumbered their victims hundreds if not thousands to one in isolated areas with local LEO enabling and aiding the Feds. This would never be the case. It would be thousands to one the other way around with little local support in flyover America and a large amount of LEO noncompliance or out an out direct resistance from local LEO. It is not ever going to happen in our lifetimes.

They could go after the manufacturers of guns and ammo but black market would take over in time if any were shut down before this played out in the courts or with a change in administration.

On New Years Eve night it is illegal to shoot in the city or surrounding county islands. In ten minutes I heard WWIII going off with every caliber known to mankind going off continuously without ceasing far and wide for at least 20 square miles. enough rounds went off in ten minutes to take out 4 divisions in one large city in the central valley of California. All those discharges were illegal. Tens of thousands breaking the law simultaneously and nobody arrested. That was for fun, what do you think happens when the SHTF and it is serious business?

I know that GoogleMaps can’t find me. It comes close to my mailbox location, but there is a ways to go after that to get to my house.

Remember, all those AR-type guns, tactical shotguns, and high-capacity pistols are for when the ants come. However, your first line of defense against something like this may be a long gun. YouTube has a wealth of information on the correct way to mount a scope, ammo selection, and long-range shooting techniques. You definitely want to be able to “reach out and touch someone” before they get close enough to do you any damage. Dust off that deer rifle and set it up to shoot long distance. Go find yourself a rifle range with distances to 300 yds, 500 yds, and beyond. Get to really know your gun and learn how to shoot those distances! Just for some peace of mind, I went out on the back 40 today and burned just a few rounds to make sure the trusty .308 was still tuned up.

“You have posted what I see as happening.”

Thank you, I am convinced there are many who not only agree, but consider themselves ready.

“Then there are all those “illegal” weapons out there; they can be recruited into the resistance, strange bedfellows.”

There are also those old guys, old meaning in there late sixties who went thru sniper school back when the equipment was not fancy, not expensive, just deadly. Like the Winchester Model 70 pre 64 in .270 Caliber.

I will be in Maine early next week to spend 3 days with one of them.

Baraq needs to begin the process by sending the ATF to disarm the Chicago ghetto. Next summer.

Amazing how many have sold or had their weapons stolen in the last few years, why, I would not at all be surprised when I get home to Southern Conn, if my house hasn’t been broken into and my guns all stolen.

” it will not be pretty .”

Watering the tree of liberty never is. Just necessary. Let us make a pac, it will not be our blood that waters that tree.

Lien on your house. Bank accounts frozen. Credit cards declined. Drivers lisence suspended. Any work lisence such as contractors, doctors, etc. suspended. And so on. No need for force

This would cause me to kill.

Your basic privileges will not be renewed unless you turn in your registered firearms. Your drivers license for instance. Inability to obtain auto insurance because you no longer have a valid license. Since you no longer can bundle auto, home, etc, everything goes up for you! CCL's will obviously be the first target, immediate revocation. Any number of things that have been defined as a privilege (such as driving). Maybe you won't be allowed health care under the regimes plan because you are a threat to society in general.Extra taxes on you because you are a suspected firearm owner until the "state" you resides in can inspect your home and property at your consent.

This would cause me to kill.

Yes, you are correct. People don’t understand how evil our government is becoming.
