Gun confiscation: How will it start?

Posted on 01/02/2013 4:03:29 PM PST by rustyboots

With all the recent talk about gun control, the high level of ammo/firearm purchasing and the just demonstrated lack of GOP gonads on fiscal matters, I started to wonder just how fast they would roll over for DiFi? But I guess the real question would be; If Difi got her wish on her new bill, how would they start if millions resisted? Would the government realize that there wasn't going to be a cheerful obedience to the new law and just let millions get away with this resistance? If there decided to go after gun owners who refused to register, how would they do it? Do they do massive overnight raids on FFL dealers/gun stores? Do they do the midnight raids on the common man? And then where do they start? What would happen if they raided 50 different locations in Texas versus raiding 50 different places in Kansas? Will we see resistance then? Of if successful, will the rest of America just bend over and grab their ankles? Just curious what many of you think? After 57 years, I am beginning to fear my government.... and many of the citizens of this great country.

“If every gun owner resisted, the tyrants couldn’t do it.

“But.

99% will submit to the slaughter like sheep.
The other 1% will suffer horribly.”

I agree that’s the most likely scenario.

That officer has a life: friends, Family, a home, a car, etc.

Your basic privileges will not be renewed unless you turn in your registered firearms.

A precursor to accepting the Mark of the Beast. I know I wouldn't accept that, knowing that it would cost me my life (temporary life but not eternal life).

It’s sad, but we may one day soon rely on the firepower of urban gangs as the last holdout against a Federal government which has turned against its own citizens.

How will anyone know what I have?

Do you think that by the time they’ve stooped to credit card checks, the masses won’t see it coming and act accordingly?

I own legal gun(s) but I will own illegal guns if it comes to it.

If you don’t turn in your guns, they will put you on the “No Fly List” and the “No Banking List”.

They will employ the same slime time media blitz that they have been using for the past 5 yrs.....continue to legislate from the bench, diss the Constitution with executive order and use taxes to bleed this country into oblivion.

Oh, you want a gun, just pay this $200 a year tax (per firearm) and keep up with your national registration requirements. Oh, you want bullets too, well, there will be a sliding tax rate based on quantity and time period. After all, who needs more than 20 rounds, the revolver only holds 6 to 8 anyway.

I know Democrat firearm owners who voted for the Marxist regime and they are wiggin out. They drank the Kool-aid and fully expected free stuff, not losing their firearms and paying more taxes.....suckers got suckered. Go figure.

Those Mini-14s will be gone by the weekend. Even at double the price, it is only 10 years worth of inflation. I didn’t quit buying gasoline cause I remember buying it for $0.25 A GALLON. I need the gas today and am willing to pay today’s price. You obviously do not need the Mini today, and that is fine.

Thanks for the link.

Although I still debate libtards on gun issues - I no longer talk about guns that I may or may not own. I rarely go to the range anymore. Not since I sold my firearms.

Keeping an ever-lower profile. Not that they would monitor Freerepublic. Not yet anyways....

Ruby Ridge didn’t go so well for the Feds... It would go worse today with instant communications and all.

That assumes the Feds don't shut down the Internet and other means of communication first. Don't assume your cell phone will continue to work if the Feds want to isolate you.

Measured breaths and a still spirit.

Don’t want to but I will treat them the same as any man breaking into my home and he can only intend on causing me great injury or killing someone I love.

My dogs are just as important to me as my brother.

My thoughts:

Waco was successful because we had a democrat governor, and LE had the masses believing that children were being harmed. I don’t think that will happen the next time. There are still enough Texans around that remember Waco, and we aren’t going to forget it. Also, remember the anti-govt movement in the northern states several years ago? The govt got away with quelling that because they convinced the rest of us that they were a bunch of dangerous nuts.

I can see house to house confiscation happening in the big cities (Houston, Austin, etc.) but I can’t see it happening out here in the boonies where I live. It would just be too dangerous for them. Not enough LE, and too many of us with trees to hide behind and shoot from, and we all have cell phones. And, all of us have multiple guns, with a good share of them being those “mean looking” guns. Also, most of us own a good share of guns that shoot military calibers. The plan being, that after it starts, (if it starts) we are going to be using captured ammo, and playing on the houses’ money.

Not to brag, but a lot of us hayseeds have nothing to do sometimes but shoot guns to pass the time. It’s like stirring coffee with a spoon. We don’t have to think about what we are doing. We do it all the time. After all, we don’t climb those trees after those persimmons - too easy to fall and kill yourself.

I have a big parcel of property, as do a lot of us, with many places to hide, and I’ve been here 25 years. I’ve shot enough deer and other targets on my place, that I know the distances from every fence post to every stump, to every treeline and fence line. I wouldn’t need a spotter to “range me.” I’ve got you cued up the minute you cross my fence in any direction.

I’ve made it a point to flat out ask local state, county, and city LE what they are going to do if gun control/confiscation happens. Their replies range from: “..that’s a federal law - see any feds around?” to: “..guns? What guns?” This is refreshing to hear, and I hope they still have this attitude if it happens.

I don’t think they could make this happen without the military. There are a lot of Texans and other southerners in the military, and we have many awfully big military installations in this state. I don’t see home-grown boys firing on their own people. I see a great many deserters if this happens.

To isolate anyone, they have to shut the entire system down. Drug dealers and terrorists figured it out a long time ago.

No cell and internet, commerce and jobs shut down. Wanna bet how long before all major highways are shut down? It is impossible to monitor every mile of roadway in the country, and the JIT system is totally screwed with any transportation dysfunction.
