The Jerusalem Post ^ | 01/07/2013 | Judy Siegel--Itzkovich

When cars had metallic bumpers, sodas were used to polish them, and popular acidic soft drinks has also been known to be a good toilet-bowl cleaner.

Now, Greek gastroentrologists headed by Dr. Spiros Ladas at Athens University Medical School and Laikon Hospital have published a study proving that drinking Coca-Cola (the brand name provided in the article) can open up clogs in people with overly convoluted gastrointestinal systems caused by the ingestion of digested fruits and vegetables. They published their findings on Monday in the journal Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

I wonder how long the tooth would last in stomach acid, before it as been diluted with Coke?

The acid released in our stomach is hydrochloric acid (HCl), the same strong acid that is handled cautiously in chemistry labs.

I think it can handle a can of Coke.

An old pouch of roll your own tobacco did the same thing. Now I use rain X.

I have also used it as the first step to clean firearms that were funky before applying the Hoppes.

Back then Coca Cola also had a little bit of cocaine in it.

Seems like the simplest solution is to stop eating fruits and vegetables.

How much are these clowns consuming? Just add some rum and a little lime and everything will be OK!

With a sufficient amount of rum, it won't matter whether it works or not - you won't care either way.

Some people have really slow digestive tracts. My guess is that for people who for one reason or another have slow/constricted digestive tracts, too much vegetable fiber is a bad thing. The acids in cola must not be broken down by the stomach acids and therefore are able to act as liquid draino farther into the GI tract.

Interesting question because I remember something about a protective mechanism whereby if the stomach decides something is a foreign object that the body should not attempt to digest, it will encapulate the object and pass it on.

Actually you should...

Called the doctor, woke him up, and said
"Doctor, ain't there nothing I can take"
I said, "Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?"
I said, "Doctor ain't there nothing I can take"
I said, "Doctor"

put the lime in the cocount, then you'll feel better.
Put the lime in the coconut, and drink them both up,

How about clogs formed by Cheetos, Fritos and Tacos?
