An elderly man drove through the front door of an east Lincoln Valentinos on Wednesday morning -- and then ordered a pizza.
The man drove his white Honda Fit, which had a Holt County license plate, through the front of the Valentinos at 904 N. 70th St. a little after 11:30 a.m., said Lincoln Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Leo Benes.
It sounded like a building was coming down, said Mary Huff, who was working next door.
Crews treated the driver at Valentinos and then took him to a local hospital, Benes said. Noone else was injured.
The driver was alert enough to order a pizza while he was trapped in his car, a good sign, Benes said, because it signaled that he was alert after the crash.

At least the old guy knew where to stop for takeout.
Well, generally where to stop, but not EXACTLY where to stop!
the sign said “drive through window”, so he did.
“No anchovies, please.”
End car violence! We know who has ‘em and where they are. This cannot go on in the 21st century!
No Problem. $100K cash upfront.
Elderly person who shouldn’t be behind the wheel anymore, ping.

I dunno - if the delivery guy has to use the Jaws Of Life, I’d say you probably better tip him.
Or really, really hungry.
Rock N Roll Runza?
The old guy did a good job of getting that car in there. The Honda fit.
True story.I was in line at Wendy’s down the shore.Heard a crash and looked out.A car had crash into another car and demolished it.A man and 2 kids from the demolished car walked in and got in line.I had the crew call 911 and got him to sit down.He was in shock.
“Too early for flapjacks?”
Did the Honda fit?
Did they tell him they don’t have drive-in service?
They paid for his pizza?
In general, the first two numbers on the Nebraska plate is the county ID. Farmers could always identify the big city shysters coming to see them by their 1 (Omaha) or 2 (Lincoln) plates.
